No Man's Sky is still alluding all of us in the release date department, however, this Australian magazine seems to have some info on the release date's ETA! The PS4 is in need of some great games! Though...actually, Bloodborne has finally been released and I have to say, it's actually incredible. It's everything I thought it would be and more! Hello, NextGen.
Let's hope we can expect the same from Hello Games' No Man's Sky! Sean Murray and his developing team have done a wonderful job of prepping players for their procedurally generated universe. We are all appropriately hyped for what could be one of the true little gems of 2015. But when it finally hits PC, can we make our own stamp on No Man's Sky?
No Man's Sky - PC Modding
There's something so wonderful about allowing the community at large to mod your own game. So many developers have sent out a beautifully designed package, one that offers us hours of entertainment. And yet, a community can still contribute to the ideas put forth and enhance on sections of gameplay. Therefore, games can see years of extended life through modding.
I'm all for just playing a title the way that developers intended. However, there's something so wonderful about seeing devoted fans of a game bring their own innovations and imagination to someone else's formula. No Man's Sky will surely give us a glorious universe to explore, but there's always room for improvement. But will they let us mod it?
Sean Murray and the team at Hello Games have yet to confirm much about the PC edition of No Man's Sky. Naturally Sony want people to focus on the PS4 version, in the hopes that certain players will be enticed to buy it straight away regardless of whether they have a great PC. Obviously modding won't take any effect on the online world, otherwise the game would break in no time.
But we sincerely hope that No Man's Sky's development team allow us to change up the game in little ways. It'd be a real shame if they blocked modding capabilities. But I seriously can't wait to see what we'll all discover as we journey through the expanses of the universe. It's an exciting game to wait for!
What Mods Would You Add to No Man's Sky?
No Man's Sky gives us a very large and general galaxy. One that is filled with content, but not necessarily mountains of detail. We can indeed travel to planets and interact with wildlife, but there are no communities. There are no civilisations, there are no NPCs. If No Man's Sky gives players the ability to mod it, can you imagine the wonders that certain planets could hold?
Now, remember, this is a procedurally generated universe. Changing one little aspect of the game's code could launch a ripple effect across an entire galaxy. Who knows what sort of creations could be formed from mods! Personally, I really would like to see talented players out there experiment with Hello Games' base.
What do you think gamers? Will No Man's Sky allow players to mod its universe on its release date for the PC? Can you think of any additions you yourself or someone should add to Sean Murray's creation? If so, let us know in the comments!
