It’s aged so well! The casting is perfection and Jack, Cher, Susan, and Michelle make the film work above all else (although, where was Meryl?). The Nessun Dorma pink balloon montage is brilliant. John Williams’ music is gorgeous. Old skool Zsigmond provides classy widescreen cinematography. And sharp script. Totally different than the Updike book, but it works better this way on screen (think book vs. movie of “The Shining”). I would’ve liked less special effects, but it’s still one of the best flicks of the 80s. Oh, and I LOVE the hair.
