Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary

There are too many superheroes out there to count and yet, I am asked to pick only five? Impossible! But anyways, here goes nothing...

5. Agent Peggy Carter

A symbol of strength
A symbol of strength

Known best for being portrayed by Hayley Atwell in Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Agent Carter, many do not view Margaret "Peggy" Carter as a superhero, but rather, just a hero. I disagree. Peggy Carter is a symbol of strength, justice and truth. In a time where women were viewed lesser than men, she showed us all how strong women can be. She even used being a woman to her advantage. Being the first female comic book character to get her own show, she inspires us all. I would say that is pretty 'super'.

4. Daredevil

Perseverance
Perseverance

I find what Matt Murdock does amazing. He is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. Does he let his disability get him down? No! Instead, he perseveres. Matt uses his other enhanced senses to fight crime. I have no idea what it must be like to be blind, but I have utmost respect for how they endure through all the troubles they face. Daredevil may just be a comic book character, but he encourages me to never give up, no matter what happens!

3. Oracle

No excuses
No excuses

Barbara Gordon is the definition of no excuses. She was originally Batgirl until Joker crippled her in the Killing Joke comic story line. From then on out she is confined to a wheelchair. Does Barbara let that stop her? Of course not! She continues to help bring the bad guys to justice in whatever way possible. Not only is she a valued member of the Bat Family, but also many other teams, such as the Justice League. If I lost the use my legs, I don't think I would be as strong and determined as Oracle is. I guess I have no excuses for being lazy now.

2. Spider-Man

You are never too young
You are never too young

Let's be honest, who doesn't love Spider-Man? The first comic I ever read was a Spider-Man comic. I'm in high school myself so it's nice to just read about a teen who I can relate with. If he can be a superhero, work for the Daily Bugle and get good grades in school all at the same time, there is no reason for students to not try their hardest in school. Also, Peter Parker was given a big amount of responsibility at such a young age. I think most young people, including myself, wouldn't know what to do with all that power, besides having fun with it. Peter Parker chose to protect people. Spider-Man has been given many titles over the years, such as: Amazing, Spectacular, etc. He 100% deserves every single one.

1. Batman

I'm speechless
I'm speechless

Because... He's Batman!

Conclusion

These are my five favorite superheroes because they inspire me. Every hero has a story, so ask yourself, Who inspires you?
