So, let's get one thing straight to begin with: Avengers Academy is one of the most underrated comic series' I've ever read. It was tragically cut short but there's still places where you can buy or read it online, which I recommend that you do. Anyway, without further ado, here's my ideal cast for if Avengers Academy was ever made into a film or television show:
Finesse (Alexandra Daddario)
Let's face it. Alexandra Daddario is shortchanged by the Percy Jackson series (as are the majority of the actors, let's be honest). However, if her performance as Annabeth Chase has shown anything, it's that Daddario can play stoic, analytical characters with great skill. Add that to the facial similarities and it seems you've got a fit for Finesse!
Striker (Taron Egerton)
An actor from a great film this time, Taron Egerton is outstanding as lovable rogue Eggsy Unwin in the new film Kingsman: The Secret Service (one to watch, by the way!). In it, his innate confidence and cocky personality lands itself greatly to a character like Striker and, if Egerton swapped the cockney accent for an American one, he could do this character justice!
Veil (Sophie Turner)
Sophie Turner is absolutely amazing in Game of Thrones and she also looks pretty similar to Veil's comic book appearance. I know that she's just been announced as the new Jean Grey but this is a fan casting so it's still possible!
Reptil (Michael Trevino)
You may recognise Reptil from the cartoon Super Hero Squad, but his first recurring comics appearance was in the pages of Avengers Academy as an original student. To be honest, I picked Trevino more for the look than anything, but I've heard that he is a great small screen latino actor and could do the character of Reptil justice!
Hazmat (Jessika Van)
Jessika Van is a great actress who has proved time and again that she can pull off nuanced performances, which a character as traumatic as Hazmat would require in spades. Add that to the look and you've got your Hazmat!
Mettle (Tahj Mowry)
Again picked for the look rather than the talent, Mowry is still acclaimed as an actor and portrays 'nice guy' characters regularly, making him a fit for a (what I assume would be heavily CGI'd) Mettle
So guys, there's my list and here is the end of my first article. I hope that you enjoy it!
