Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett, Carlos Verdes and Patrick Sabongui recently set up a Kickstarter for their project, The Letter Carrier.
Short film set circa 1860 told via music. A family hides in secluded mountains, a chilling lore allows them to live free from bondage.
The screenplay and original songs where written by Jesse L. Martin, who worked with Carlos Valdes on composition and arrangement of the music, will direct the 10 minute short with Rick Cosnett and will also serve as a producer alongside Cosnett and Patrick Sabongui.
The project just recently passed its CAD$50,000 goal and is now aiming to get another $30,000 before it end in 3 days!
Check it out here: The Letter Carrier.
Recently Joss Whedon, a lover of musicals, donated to the project and posted about it out on Twitter.
As a special thank you Martin, Cosnett, and Verdes have recorded a gospel version of the Firefly theme song, Whedon’s short-lived television series, “The Balled of Serenity” with lyrics written by Joss himself.
