One of the smaller yet most anticipated superhero films of 2016 has got to be FOX's standalone "Deadpool" film which sees Ryan Reynolds return to the role in a film that will hopefully be a lot more faithful to its comic book origins. Fans of the character jumped for joy when it was officially announced that a standalone film will be released at the beginning of 2016, but no one is more enthusiastic than star of the film Ryan Reynolds, who has been campaigning for a "Deadpool" film for years.

Today we got out first official look at the "Deadpool" costume which should make fans more than happy.

Does the picture make sense? No, it doesn't. But the meta humor and faithfulness to the comic book look should have fans weak at the knees. From the mask to the belt buckle, its all there! One thing that jumps out to me, are the eyes....they seem to be animated. One is smaller than the other as in Deadpool is emoting with his eyes, will the eyes be edited later on in Post Production? I guess we'll find out when the first trailer hits.

Ryan Reynolds stars as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool aka 'The Merc With a Mouth', a fan favorite X-Men character who's last on screen appearance had less fans cheering and more fans questioning what the hell they'd just seen. That's right, I'm talking about "X-Men Origins Wolverine" a film that not only is the weakest in the franchise but nearly ruined some of our favorite X-Men characters, most of all Deadpool.

They had the 'Merc With a Mouth' and gave mouth? Don't get me wrong, I loved Reynolds in the role, in fact his scene towards the beginning of the film was the highlight of the movie. Many fans do blame Reynolds for the characters poor portrayal but I implore those naysayers to look again, he was actually really good! He has maintained loyal to the character and seems over the moon that he's getting another opportunity next year.

It seems that the overall online appreciation for the leaked "Deadpool" test footage is the whole reason for this movie being greenlit in the first place, if you haven't had chance to see it yet, take a look, its glorious!

Isn't it perfect? It has the perfect humor, great tone and the violence to top it all off, if the full feature is anything like the test footage then we are in for a great time! The test footage is voiced by Reynolds and directed by Tim Miller who is also signed on to direct the full feature.

Do you guys love the costume as much as I do, or feel its a little to loyal to the source material? Let me know in the comments!
