First off I'd like to say that I wanted to cast different from the choices I've been seeing all around the internet. Saying that, my choices are probably going to be extremely unpopular. Oh well. I'd also like to preface my casting choices by saying I'd like the Inhumans movie to take place completely on Attilan, leaving out any human elements or links with other movies at least until the end. They should die down the costumes. Realistically they have no reason to where such flamboyant costumes within the confines of their own society unless a certain aspect of the outfit serves a purpose. But, leave enough intact that we know the characters, obviously. I believe the acting capabilities of all these actors have been proven, so I won't delve into too much detail about that aspect.
Michael Jai White as Black Bolt
Get it? BLACK Bolt... never mind. I know. I KNOW the popular choice for ole' Bolt is Vin Diesel. Yes, I agree, to a certain extent. I also know the lash back from casting a white character as black, especially since Michael definitely isn't as racially vague as Vin. Hear me out... Michael definitely has the build for Bolt. He has the jaw, the glare. He can just give a look and be menacing. Vin... doesn't have that. Michael also has a nice booming voice for when he finally unleashes it. Let's face it, we're not going to see him reprise his role as Spawn, and unless they decide to recast Blade and make it Michael, I think this would be the perfect role for him.
Chiwetel Ejiofor as Maximus the Mad
The Operative. Serenity. That's it. That's all you need to know... Not really. He certainly has the charisma to believably talk people into submission, regardless of if it's a power or not. Maximus is the brother of Black Bolt, and accompanies Bolt's physical power with his verbal dominance. I sense a Thor/Loki dynamic here.
Eva Green as Medusa
She definitely has the acting chops. In fact, she may be over qualified. We know she can hold up in and action movie after seeing her in Casino Royal. Her piercing gaze matches Michaels, and I think she'd be a good fit by his side. Frankly I've seen her with a lot of wild, funky hairstyles and I'd like to see the full prehensile thing going on.
Mélanie Thierry as Crystal
I picked her as crystal because, to me, she looks like she could actually be an innocent, younger sibling of Eva as Medusa. The pout is strong with this one. She's at least had a little taste of action in Babylon A.D. alongside the aforementioned Vin Diesel.
Daniel Dae Kim as Triton
This guys has the sharp facial features befitting of an reptilian... fish... man. Along with his slim muscular build, I think he fits great. He's also dabbled a little in the MCU with a role in Hulk. I based this casting off of who I picked for Triton's brother, Karnak.
Ken Watanabe as Karnak
Dude. The voice of this man. Gotham will be destr-oh never mind. With his not as Mandirin-esque role in Batman Begins, I see the strong, calm, control in this mans voice. Something that extremely compliments Karnak's way of speaking, in my opinion.
Joe Manganiello as Gorgon
Big. Hairy. Intimidating. If you've seen him as Alcide in True Blood you know he does well playing a beastial character. This man as know as "walking CGI" and his acting ability is up there. I know Djimon Hounsou played Korath, his father, in Guardians of the Galaxy, but oh well. He's the galactic milk man's baby.
Those... are my choices for Inhumans. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to cast people I haven't seen mentioned yet. Some people are screaming for racial diversity, some don't like change. I think Inhumans are just obscure enough for these changes not to be such a big deal. I'd love to hear feedback as to why you think these choices either great or horrible. Please, speak up. Tell me how you FEEL about these choices. Better yet, make your own fancast!
