It's been a dream for Steve Rogers to serve the country in war. One way or the other, he definitely becomes the chosen one in the eyes of Dr. Erskine and Howard Stark. With his newfound abilities of being a super soldier and earning a name "CAPTAIN AMERICA" he lives his dream, irrespective of the year, be it 1943 or even after 70 years of sleep!

Lets go through the journey of this First Avenger in MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS (2012). Initially he takes his time to cope up with the new world and S.H.I.E.L.D too. But from the heart he is still a soldier of WWII aiding USA and serving nation. Being "out of time" makes him unnoticeable to funny things.

But all the way back to the helicarrier, Captain Rogers find it very much difficult to agree with Tony Stark. And so, once a soldier, forever a soldier! A habit of following orders from the supervisor is still a part of him, don't you think?

Well, yes! Following is really not Tony's style and Rogers is the one wearing a spangly outfit. But in the end, it's Tony himself who describes Steve Rogers as follows -

Mindblowing, but what actually counts is the fact that Rogers finally can shed his soldier image and dons the role of a leader. He is a CAPTAIN for God's sake, and yes! It's Tony again who asks Rogers to call it when the Chitauri invaded New York! Don't remember the scene? Here it is -

Yes! And he finally becomes the guy to GIVE ORDERS instead of FOLLOWING them! He is truly a symbol of courage, valor, sacrifice and the pride of America!

So what do you think? Is Captain America truly a self sacrificing hero? Or you count for someone else in the Avengers list?
