While the entire season finale of [The Walking Dead](series:201193) was an awesome end to a totally amazing fifth season, the highlight of the 90-minute episode was definitely the chaos that took place in the final scene with Rick Grimes and Pete.

While it might seem a touch macabre to want to re-watch the scenes, I think as Walking Dead fans we can definitely handle seeing Pete get his just deserts one last time, so take a look at the highlights from the final scene (special shout out to Uproxx.com for these amazing gifs!) before re-watching it all at the end of the article:

First up a crazed Pete interrupts the town meeting

Completely blinded by his desire for revenge, Pete walks in armed with Michonne's katana which he had taken from the mantelpiece.

Reg tried to talk sense into Pete but he pushed him away, slitting his throat in the process

Though it doesn't particularly seem like it was in Pete's plan to kill anyone other than Rick, it was poor, sweet Reg who ended up the victim when Pete shoved him away and the sharp sword cut his throat open.

Holding a dead Reg in her arms Deanna gave Rick permission to kill Pete

Seriously, this guy was messed up and a danger to all involved. It was too bad that it took Deanna losing her husband to see that just because Pete was a surgeon doesn't mean he was above the law.

Rick didn't need to be told twice

Without even hesitating you could see that Rick even took a little pleasure in killing the scum who had caused so much trouble to Alexandria. It may have been brutal to have done it in front of most of the town, but it definitely needed to be done.

And then, Morgan appeared

Only a few scenes after Morgan had mentioned that he believes every life is previous he walks onto an execution scene with the man he had been searching for all this time playing executioner. The most frustrating part about all of this is having to wait until October to see what Morgan will make of the situation!
