From love stories like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart meeting while filming the Twilight series, or Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev falling in love while filming [The Vampire Diaries](series:200853) there must be something crazy romantic about making movies together.

While I can't imagine what it is about working in close quarters with ridiculously talented and good looking people that makes costars want to shack up (note the sarcasm), sometimes even seemingly unlikely or surprising pairs have come from the deep recesses of movie and television sets. That, or Cupid always has his arrow set towards Hollywood.

Some of these couples have stood the test of time, while others have sadly run out of steam along the way. With that, here are 12 celebrity costar couples that dated in real life!

1. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Daredevil

Dated: 2004-2005

Married: 2005-2015

The soon-to-be ex spouses initially met on the set of Pearl Harbor in 2001, but Garner was married to Scott Foley at the time. Then, just two years later, Ben and Jen crossed paths again as Daredevil costars. Today Ben and Jen have two daughters and a son. The A-List pair were married for a solid 10 years before announcing their divorce last month, much to the dismay of fans everywhere.

2. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Dated: 2004-2014

Married: 2014-present

Amidst much media attention, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fell hard and fast on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. So hard and fast, in fact, that Pitt hadn't yet divorced his wife at the time, Jennifer Anniston, leading to a tabloid frenzy that is still in effect today. But after the firestorm slowed, the two appear to have one of the strongest relationships in Hollywood. Between them, Brad and Angie have six beautiful children. After a decade together, they were finally married last year.

3. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, The Amazing Spider-Man

Dated: 2011-present

On the set of The Amazing Spider-Man back in 2010, the chemistry between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy was impossible to ignore, especially for the actors who played them. Even though the pair had allegedly broken up earlier this year, they have been spotted together recently and sources claim their relationship is even stronger than ever now that they're back together!

4. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, Game of Thrones

Dated: 2012-2013

Fans of [Game of Thrones](movie:817617) everywhere will be happy to know that while Jon Snow may have known nothing in the show, he knew enough to date the gorgeous Rose Leslie. While it didn't work out for the couple both on and off the show, they'll always have that steamy cave scene!

5. Linda Cardellini and Jason Segel, Freaks and Geeks

Dated: 2001-2007

The pair played Lindsay Weir and Nick Andopolis on Judd Apatow's far too short-lived show Freaks and Geeks. While their relationship may not have ended particularly well on the show, these two dated for six years! Considering they dated for so long, I'm pretty surprised that I didn't already know about this.

6. Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, True Blood

Dated: 2007-2010

Married: 2010-present

The two True Blood stars met on set and it must have been love at first bite! They started dating shortly after filming started back in 2007 and are currently married with two children.

7. Emma Greenwell and Jeremy Allen White, Shameless

Dated: 2011-present

Yet another on-screen couple whose chemistry stems from a very real place. The young Shameless couple has been dating since Greenwell replaced Jane Levy as Mandy Milkovich. By all accounts (*cough* Wikipedia) the Shameless costars are dating, but my Spidey senses (*cough* Instagram) tell me that the two have appeared to be a lot less social media couple-y in the last year or so. Fingers crossed these two are still together!

8. Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr, Gossip Girl

Dated: 2008-2010

While Chuck Bass and Vanessa Abrams only had brief flings that ended in regret on Gossip Girl, the actors dated for about two years in real life.

9. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Green Lantern

Dated: 2010-2012

Married: 2012-present

Gossip Girl's Blake Lively met her Green Lantern costar, Ryan Reynolds and married him two years later. They have one daughter together who was born in December of last year.

10. Alexis Bledel and Milo Ventimiglia, Gilmore Girls

Dated: 2002-2006

I know that a lot of people in the Gilmore Girl fanbase are on team Dean, but I have always been on team Rory and Jess. As it turns out, their intense chemistry was more than just acting. These two whippersnappers also fell in love off set and dated for four years.

11. Vincent Kartheiser and Alexis Bledel, Mad Men

Dated: 2012-2013

Married: 2014- present

Alexis, girl, do you ever meet any guys outside of filming? Well, I guess it doesn't matter now since she has found true love in her [Mad Men](series:200778) costar Vincent Kartheiser. She only had a three episode stint back in 2012, but apparently it was enough for these two to spark a happy, loving marriage.

12. Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan, Alias

Dated: 2003-2004

Back in the early 2000s and fresh from a divorce, Jennifer Garner dated her Alias costar Michael Vartan for about a year. Like Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively, Jennifer Garner must have a thing for her costars.

13. Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin, Once Upon a Time

Dated: 2011-2013

Married: 2014 - present

As a fan of [Once Upon a Time](series:720994), I feel like a real fool for having not known this until recently. Some of you may be much quicker to conclusions than I am, but I had no idea that Charming and Snow were together in real life. The pair met on set and were married three years later. They have a son that was born last year, which explains her pregnancy on the show.

You just can't make up this kind of chemistry, I guess:

14. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy, Ghost Whisperer

Dated: 2009-2010

Probably one of the more unlikely couples on this list, the popular late '90s crush, Jennifer Love Hewitt, dated comedian Jamie Kennedy after working together on the CBS television program Ghost Whisperer after Kennedy's character was introduced in Season 4. Sadly, their relationship was short-lived.

15. Chris Pratt and Emily VanCamp, Everwood

Dated: around 2004-2006

Alright, I'll be honest, this one is only really surprising to me because I can't imagine a world in which Chris Pratt isn't with his soulmate Anna Faris. That being said, these two actors met during both of their first big roles playing siblings on Everwood.

Today Pratt is a huge A-list celebrity and is married to and has one son with Anna Faris. VanCamp currently stars on the hit show [Revenge](series:722125) and has been dating her costar Josh Bowman since 2011.
