Let's face it: we know next to nothing about the story of Batman vs Superman. We know the actors, characters, writer, and director. A possible spoiler is below, but it's not too bad. First off, we need to know thy enemy.
The Villain: Alexander Joseph Luthor
Ah yes, the arch-nemesis. My opinion? Eisenberg is going to nail this role. He already genuinely hates Superman. He can play a rich, young, clever, and aggressive man. It's recently been rumored that he manipulates Superman into fighting Batman. That's an interesting rumor.
Now here's an official detail, said by Zack Snyder himself:
“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” says Snyder, “other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.”
“Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake,” says Snyder. “He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
My guess? The whole Batman against Superman is just a distraction from whatever Lex Luthor is planning. Does Luthor want to kill Superman? Probably. We'll know more about Lex when the teaser trailer finally hits.
Watch this Empire Awards 2015 Interview!
What did we learn from this?
- This interviewer knew Cavill could not say much about this super anticipated film, but we do now know one big detail: "there will be a firm handshake at some stage."
- The last time Cavill donned the cape and tights was in November-December of 2014
- [Justice League Part One](movie:401267) hasn't started filming yet
So I know you probably clicked/tapped this article to find the spoiler. And that's what I'm going to write about.
You might be wondering why this matters. A handshake is when two people grasp each others' hands to agree or greet each other. A firm handshake would be confident.
What does the handshake say about the movie? It says that the fight will end at one point and Batman and Superman will agree that they do not need to fight. (Since the handshake is about the smackdown, I doubt this is Bruce and Clark as civilian shaking hands.)
The fight is guaranteed to be epic and visually amazing. Is there a winner? There will probably be a winner, but unlike The Dark Knight Returns, Batman will probably not die. Instead, the Boy Scout and the Detective will agree on whatever it is that they initially misunderstood or disagreed on.
Do not forget the title! In U.S. cases, the 'v' means 'and' in civil cases, but 'against' in non-civil cases. This should be a big clue about the movie.
Remember there is a team that has to unite...
The Justice League
Unite the seven. Bam. Superman and Batman both fight for truth and justice. They cannot protect the world from enormous threats alone. Enter: the Justice League. After all, the order of the DCCU movies from 2016 to 2017 is Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League Part One. I am still predicting the surprise ending where the whole Justice League unites at the very end of Dawn of Justice. The point is, Batman and Superman will also agree to the formation of this outrageously awesome league.
What about [Wonder Woman](movie:45787)?
How is she involved with Batman and Superman? I don't know. Why don't you speculate? Will she be on Batman's side or Superman's side at first? Does she sneak around Wayne Enterprises as rumored? Get that brain working!
Not the End
The handshake is a pivotal part of Batman and Superman's friendship. Everything after the handshake will be Batman and Superman fighting side-by-side against Luthor, Darkseid, Brainiac, ect.
April 4, 2015. Save the date. There will be a mystery Warner Brothers panel at WonderCon. My predictions? Still being written.
We only have roughly a year left until the release of [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870)! However, the teaser is going to hit soon...
I have a surprise for you Pilots!
It's an amazing gif made by a fan!
