Following the Season 5 finale of [The Walking Dead](series:201193) Melissa McBride (Carol) and Norman Reedus (Daryl), along with Lennie James (Morgan) all made appearances on [The Talking Dead](movie:570401), where predictably the topic of a Daryl and Carol relationship came up. However, after giving the notable silence on the show, Norman Reedus has now come out with a very interesting comment on the matter!

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reedus gave a detailed answer on the very popular question, saying:

I've had lots of talks with Scott [Gimple] about it. I like our relationship how it is. We don't have to make out to be who we are. We're kindred spirits; there's a brother-sister bond there that's almost stronger than a lovey-dovey bond. I'm not totally against it, but I'm not totally for it. It's tricky. Once you do that, it's there forever. To be honest, I'm not begging for it, and I'm not opposed to it.

While it's sweet to hear him talk about how Carol and Daryl have a close, sibling-like relationship, I can't help but feel that there's going to be a huge number of 'Caryl' shippers who are disappointed with what Norman Reedus is saying. Though at least fans of the two becoming a couple can take solace in the fact that it doesn't sound like Reedus has ruled it out either.

But, Caryl or no Caryl The Walking Dead will return in October, though until then we have the brand new companion series, [Fear the Walking Dead](series:1117438) to look forward to over the summer.
