Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk's forthcoming web series Con Man has far exceeded it's crowd funding goal of $425,000, with just under a quarter of a million dollars raised at the time of writing. Now, the two ex-Firefly stars are putting that money to good use, adding a whole new roster of talent to their now-star-studded cast list.

Seven new fan-favorite actors have signed with the project; all names sure to get hardcore geeks excited. They are:

  • The Walking Dead‘s Emily Kinney
  • Battlestar Galactica‘s Tricia Helfer and Michael Trucco
  • Terminator 2: Judgement Day‘s Robert Patrick
  • Supernatural‘s Samantha Smith
  • Austin Powers‘ Mindy Sterling
  • Uncharted‘s Nolan North

Con Man is a celebration of nerd culture, based on Fillion’s and Tudyk’s relationship with their fans and drawing on their experiences interacting with passionate convention attendees.

The show touches on Firefly's unpopular cancellation, and is in fact part of the reason why they've gone down the whole crowd-funding route in the first place (having, understandably, lost more than a little faith in ruthless studio dynamics).

You can watch a teaser for the show below:

The project's fund raising campaign is open until April 10, 2015.
