[The Magnificent Seven](movie:409787), the classic Western that still holds up today, is getting a modern remake, and actors are already lining up to mount their saddles.
Before we get into the casting news, let's get the appropriate feeling going with the unforgettable theme from the original.
If this part of the score isn't included in some capacity, then this movie simply cannot succeed. Although, they have already secured some top talent.
We already knew that Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke would be headlining with Haley Bennet appearing in some capacity, and now we've gotten more casting news to round out what's sure to be a stacked cast.
Vincent D'Onofrio reportedly cast as the villain
D'Onofrio is no stranger to playing the bad guy. This month, he'll be appearing in Netflix's first Marvel series [Daredevil](movie:47230) as Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin. We'll also see him alongside future co-star Pratt in [Jurassic World](movie:32752) this summer. If the remake stays somewhat true to the original, D'Onofrio will be leading a group of bandits against the Magnificent Seven in an attempt to rob a village.
We know this guy can play evil and play it well, so without knowing much else, I'm going to go out on a limb and call this a good choice.
Luke Grimes saddles up
[Fifty Shades of Grey](movie:391697) and [American Sniper](movie:401418) actor Luke Grimes is reportedly in talks to join the Seven. Based on his resume and the amount of cowboy boots that still need filling, I'm assuming that he will be playing one of the seven alongside Pratt, Washington, and Hawke.
By my extremely difficult and taxing calculations, Grimes' casting means we have three more spots on the gunslinger troop.
