Deadpool is not usually one to mince words, and, by the looks of this video, Ryan Reynolds is following suit.
In an appropriately-timed video release from JoBlo, we get our first on-camera look at Ryan Reynolds in the quintessential Deadpool uniform. In a totally innocuous interview with Extra's Mario Lopez, Reynolds addresses the rumors surrounding the rating of the upcoming movie. Will they be following Hollywood's lead by making [Deadpool](movie:38663) family-friendly?
Seriously, just watch this clip. I promise that you won't be disappointed.
And there you have it...
Deadpool will be rated R!
Best of all, it's clear that this time around they're not skimping on Deadpool's trademark wit. This has got to be the greatest April Fool's Day prank I saw today with that classic misdirection and then sweet, sweet relief of the announcement. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how well they pulled that off? I felt like I was constantly on the lookout for shenanigans today, and this video was expertly done.
Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to proclaim how committed he is to really earning that R-rating:
He was smart to take the time to guarantee French Unicorn sex scene. I know an angry mob was brewing outside of Vancouver ready to ensure that Deadpool included equal equine rights.
