You didn't see this coming unless you are secretly a Precog, Minority Report is one of the upcoming series that is set to air on fox. The show is based on the 2002 sci-fi film starring Tom cruise and was directed by Steven Spielberg. The story focused on John Anderton who was head of the Pre-crime unit, a special division of law enforcement that used Precogs to find and convict murderers before they could commit their crime, John is soon targeted when he is accused of a future murder that he hasn't even carried out yet. The show will be serving as a continuation and it is unlikely that Tom cruise will be involved.

Here's the series synopsis:

Set in 2065 Washington, D.C., (fifteen years after the events of the 2002 film), the series will follow Dash, a precog who has the ability to predict a crime before it happens. Unfortunately, the Pre-crime unit was dismantled in 2050, resulting in law enforcement to rely on newer methods to fight crime. Before it was dismantled, Dash, his twin brother Arthur and foster sister Agatha were part of the program that gave them their unique gifts. Now Dash is using his ability to assist detective Laura Vega in solving the crimes before they take place, while at the same time seek out his missing twin and trying to keep his gift from being revealed as there are those who want to obtain the precogs at any cost.

The plot seems to set up a crime procedural show but with an interesting twist on the concept. We know that the main character will be assisting the Pre-crime unit with Criminal investigations and help capture them, In the process Dash is putting himself in danger since there are those who would seek to exploit the abilities of Precogs for their own personal agenda. Dash could become a worthy protagonist but the trailer didn't do a good job of showing that. Hopefully the show will evolve and become something more than a crime procedural where the main character is looking for someone who has gone missing.

It's best to focus on the part of the synopsis that talks about people who seek to capture and exploit Precogs, possibly for sinister purposes. This could elude to other Precogs hiding within the general population who are also afraid of the power they posses,it wouldn't be surprising if Dash ran into someone without realizing that they have the same ability he does. The show could go and focus on a larger conspiracy revolving around Precogs or it could go the route of what was done in the movie by the time the series concludes. All of this is pure speculation but its interesting to brainstorm and guess how the show will develop. Overall it will be interesting to see how the pilot establishes the characters and sets up the show.
