If there's one Marvel movie/TV series that has sparked weekly speculation, it is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This show has been tremendous, a true work of art. Not only is it a great source of entertainment, it is clear Marvel is using and will use this show to kickstart some major storylines in the MCU. One of those is Civil War.

So before I start there will be SPOILERS! of course. Be warned, read at your own risk. If you have not seen the most recent Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode, then it is probably best not to continue.

Marvel's Civil War

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is that show that you thought was insignificant, and turned out to be very important when it came to the MCU. For instance, who would have thought that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would have so much to do with Hydra and the downfall of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Captain America: the Winter Soldier?

And who would have thought that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would introduce the Inhumans, a future Avenger (Quake), and Calvin Zabo? For reals, guys. This is great stuff.

And now it's official that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will kickstart Marvel's Civil War, in preparation for next year's Captain America: Civil War. How do I know this? I know this because of the newest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In the newest episode, we have two different S.H.I.E.L.D. programs, each claiming to be the real S.H.I.E.L.D. One S.H.I.E.L.D. is fighting for the protection of superheroes, and the other for superheroes to be tagged by the government and killed or imprisoned.

Sounds pretty much like Civil War has already started, doesn't it?

It hasn't started in the movies yet, but this is where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will most likely tie into Avengers: Age of Ultron. Said Edward James Olmos (who plays Gonzalez),

“When you see Ultron, you’ll start to realize how well this show is connected.”

One thing to keep in mind, is that we know Tony Stark will be for the registration of all superheroes and that Captain America will be for the freedom of superheroes. In addition, from the newest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. we see that Gonzalez (head of the other S.H.I.E.L.D. program) has his own aircraft, and yet is not funded by the world council. Could this mean Stark is already in the process of registering superheroes and that Ultron will be the final straw that seals the deal?

Whatever the case may be, we now know with 100% surety that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will start Marvel's Civil War and will most likely pave the way for not only Avengers: Age of Ultron but also Captain America: Civil War.
