A funny thing happened on May 10, 2011. I woke up that day bright and early, because it was my birthday. I was turning thirteen. That wasn't the funny thing, though. The funny thing happened when I was given the opportunity to explore King's Cross Station to my heart's content. I was overjoyed, because that, of course, is where the world of Hogwarts begins.

Now, you guys are probably thinking platform 9 and 3/4, but it turns out there are many, many other platforms that most people just cannot see. For example, platform 8 and 3/4, platform 10 and 3/4, platform 2 and 3/4, and so on. As you can imagine, I had my work cut out for me that day. That day, though, was one I would never forget. Are you wondering where the other platforms lead? I'll tell you, because I had the fantastic experience of finding out.

Platform 1 and 3/4: Welcome to Jurassic Park

Of all the places I could have landed first, I found myself in Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park! Platform 1 and 3/4 leads to Jurassic Park! That's right. I stood beside Dr. Ian Malcom and Dr. Alan Grant, watching Velociraptors tear cows to shreds. But see, it wasn't that magnificent. I nearly got my arm torn off by a T-Rex, my heart torn out by two velociraptors, and to top that off I only barely escaped a Dilophosaurus. Yes, I was in shock after a night in Jurassic Park.

Turns out though, the man who saved me from the Dilophosauras was none other then Chris Pratt! Right? He told me he would take me somewhere far safer called Isla Nublar. That didn't turn out hot either. We had a giant Idominus Rex on our tails the entire time. Thankfully, we found a small window portal on the far side of the island and jumped through it.

Platform 2 and 3/4: There and Back Again

Turns out each of these worlds is connected by window portals somewhere. I guess that's because they all really are located in the same train station. However, it worked, because I found myself deep in the halls of Minas Tirith. I had no idea where Chris Pratt had gone (more on that later), which was a little unnerving, but I found Aragorn soon enough. The city was in ruins, burning with black smoke and reeking of death. Turns out it had just been attacked by Sauron's full army and Aragorn and company was about to march on the Black Gate. I went along, gutted a couple orcs, decapitated a few goblins, and managed to get a few scratches myself. In short, this was by far the best place I visited. It was so epic that I could just feel it during my stay.

Platform 3 and 3/4: Follow the Yellow Brick Road

What I forgot to tell you was that when I was attacking a very nasty orc, he knocked me down a hole which I initially thought was really scary. It turns out that it was another window portal and thus I found myself in the land of oz. Nothing too exciting happened here. I only took a day or two to explore it. I nearly got turned into a monkey by some crabby, old lady with a very disgusting greenish look. She must of been sea sick or something. The Wizard of Oz pointed me on my way to the next portal window and I found myself in...

Platform 4 and 3/4: Mushroom Kingdom

By far the coolest person I met while on my wild adventure was Mario. He was practically a superhero. He taught me some moves, and together we kicked some good old Goomba butt. Mushroom Kingdom is really a cool place. Dangerous, yes, but it's still awesome. If I counted the days right, it so happened that Thursday was the day I spent in Mushroom kingdom. What a great moment!

Platform 5 and 3/4: I See You

I'm still undecided about this one. Pandora had epic scenery, the Na'vi were pretty awesome too, but I nearly got killed. I just so happened to enter right when the war started. I took a few bullets, and almost couldn't shake them. I ended up in a Na'vi hospital (I guess that's what they'd call it) for several days. I was so sick I could hardly breathe, throwing up all night for five nights in a row. It was terrible. Then I was sent back onto the battle field. A mortar hit me and I fell like a rock, except that somehow I was very lucky to fall right through a portal window in the sky.

Platform 6 and 3/4: We're The Guardians of the Galaxy

I was sore for several days after finally making contact with something solid. The reason I say something solid, was because I didn't land on Earth. No, I landed in the middle of Knowhere. That's also when I found Chris Pratt. Somehow, he had been thrown onto Knowhere instead of Middle Earth. He didn't seem to remember me either. I think his memory had been erased. He was calling himself Star-Lord and he had a whole origin story too. I stayed long enough to help fight off an alien named Ronan. The blast of the infinity stone sent me reeling though, and sadly I fell through a window portal. I actually loved Knowhere, so it was very sad to leave it.

Platform 7 and 3/4: The Land of the Walking Carpet

If I had to pick one other career, it'd be working on the Millennium Falcon. I spent a day with Han Solo and Chewbacca. I was starting to get that feeling of exhaustion, the one you get at the end of a day, but I still had energy to fight off a couple of TIE fighters. I nearly got my arm blown off once, not to mention my entire self being frozen in carbonite. That left me pretty shaken, so I got out of there pretty fast. Overall though, the entire space landscape, the planets, the diversity of alien races, everything was so mind-blowing. I'd love to go back someday.

Platform 8 and 3/4: It's Wonderland

My luck definitely took a turn for the worse, when I stumbled into Wonderland. At this point, I was just trying to get home. I was tired, hungry, and officially in three different types of shock due to dinosaurs, war, and aliens with powerful gems. This land was the creepiest land of them all. I'm afraid to say that I started crying because it was so terrifying. It was nothing like the Alice in Wonderland I had read, and I wanted to get out of there and fast. That didn't happen though, and I literally went insane. For days, I couldn't think straight. I didn't eat, didn't sleep, didn't laugh. My hair was falling out and my eyes bloodshot. It came to a point where I lay down under a giant mushroom to die, closed my eyes, and...

Platform 9 and 3/4: Welcome to Hogwarts

I woke up in Hogwarts. Don't ask me how, don't ask me why. I don't know. All I know, was that I was frantic to get back to normal life. The people at Hogwarts were so kind, so helpful; especially Hermione Granger. It was worth the entire journey just to meet her, and Harry, and Ron. It was everything I had ever wished for. I was so happy I cried. It was a little embarrassing. I spent a week with them, attempting to learn to spells and potions. Unfortunately, we realized pretty quickly that it was to no avail. I was never going to be a wizard. I left for King's Cross Station on the morning of the eighth day.

And that's pretty much where my wild adventure ends - at platform 9 and 3/4. The journey had been amazing, incredible, more wild than my most wild dreams. It's a memory I'll forever hold, the day I got to visit my favorite fictional Wonderland that is. Never go there. Ever.

So now it's your turn. Go to King's Cross Station. Explore the worlds you love. It's your turn to go on an adventure. I promise. So what are you waiting for? There's a whole new world to discover!
