Avengers: Age of Ultron is almost here. The Day of Ultron, May 1st, is just around the corner and Marvel fanatics can finally put an end to the speculation and anticipation and simply enjoy the movie that is likely to break more than a couple of box office records and take over the world like so many Ultron robots.
Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow Highlight Reel
The final trailer has arrived and perhaps as a way to draw in a few more female fans - or simply highlight a fan favorite character, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow gets the spotlight this time around. Take a look and let the final Avengers 2 trailer prove that you don't need to have super powers to bring the fight to Ultron, though Captain America's shield certainly helps.
They definitely saved the best for last in this final trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. After a lot of footage we've already seen, we get a bit of an extended look at some of the big battle that was shot on the streets of Korea between Captain America, Ultron and Black Widow speeding along in her motor cycle.
When Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow races through the streets and does a badass slide underneath the truck that Captain America and Ultron are duking it out on top of, it looks like we're getting a peek at the special camera technology that Joss Whedon was talking about being able to put to use during the South Korea shoot for Avengers 2. We'll see how the those cameras attached to remote controlled cars and drones will come into play during this fight sequence, but it certainly feels like some of these shots of Black Widow on her motorcycle are giving us a taste.
Joss Whedon has never been one to come up short on creativity and it's very cool to see how he's not only making reference to how crazy it is that non-super powered characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow are standing alongside the likes of Thor and Hulk to battle it out against a killer robot and his army of clones but he's also continuing to find great ways for these characters to hold their own and do some damage.
Did Black Widow Get A Secret Upgrade?
The final part of Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow highlight reel shows her making a very smooth catch of Captain America's shield - which is ending up like being a game of frisbee for these two characters - and laying a bit of shield smack-down on Ultron. It leaves you wondering if some of the other Avengers don't have their own version of Cap's new electromagnetic doohickey on their arms. Since the shield doesn't really have those leather handles anymore - it certainly implies that his friend the Black Widow may have something up her sleeve as well.
No Shawarma for Avengers: Age of Ultron
But this being the final trailer of course doesn't mean it's the last we'll get in the way of Avengers: Age of Ultron news to speculate about. Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige made some very interesting revelations in a recent chat to the folks at Entertainment Weekly. According to the Marvel dynamic duo, Avengers 2 won't feature a post-credits sequence.
It sounds like they're making the statement known to prevent fans from screaming bloody murder after they sit through ten minutes of credits only to be greeted with a black screen and the house lights turning up. They did clarify that there will be a stinger scene that will appear early once the credits first begin but you shouldn't expect a follow up to the shawarma dining experience from the first movie.
The History of Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow
They also confirmed the recent buzz of unexpected casting news that Linda Cardellini and Julie Delpy both do indeed have roles in the movie though they refrained from elaborating or dropping any hints as to who their characters are. Interestingly though, that information was followed up by a reveal that we'll meet the character who trained a young Black Widow, "a powerful moment in the history of Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow."
Very intriguing... And finally, they confirmed that there is a "secret female character" making an appearance in [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) but that it isn't Captain Marvel. So there's another rumor we can put to rest. Is the secret female character the same instructor we'll meet in a Black Widow flashback? Are there any truths to the old rumor that we'll meet Mantis in Avengers 2? Thank god we only have a few more weeks until we all find the answers to these questions.
