Harry Potter cannot be over. It just can't be. The world that J.K Rowling created is to expansive and wonderful to end with one series. That's why I am so excited for the newly announced Spin-Off series, [Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them](movie:1112558). Rowling is writing the script and that's amazing, but what if she opened up the Harry Potter world to new writers? And I'm not talking fan fiction I'm talking brand new, canon, books written by different authors. Why not? If Rowling isn't going to write more (please reconsider), than why not allow others to write new ones?
There is a lot of Harry Potter fan fiction out there. One that got quite a bit of press was G. Norman Lippert's James Potter series. I am currently reading the first book myself and if there is any piece of fan fiction that deserves to be regarded as canon, it's this. There are four books and one spin-off in the series right now, with the fifth and final novel due out soon. Plus they are totally free so go check them out. Imagine if more new authors came up with stories that were approved by J.K Rowling. If the James Potter series was retroactively added as canon by Rowling, I would buy a hard copy of the series in a heart beat. If J.K Rowling is not going to do more with the wizarding world, I would like to see new creators come and play in the world. It's the next best thing. C'mon Rowling, give us more or give us more.
