Easter Eggs!!!! We all grew up hunting down painted eggs (for some strange reason) every year and we thought it was the best thing ever...until you got the candy inside of course, and maybe some of y'all still do. That's ok, it's perfectly fine! I won't judge you or anything, I do it too, but not in the same way I did growing up. Now, (although I still love Easter Eggs with candy in them) I hunt down Easter Eggs in movies, tv shows, and in practically any form of entertainment!!! Whether they're the Wilhelm Scream, the Mickey Mouse's in almost every Disney movie, or anything else,I love them! They make movies a game and not just a film! It's great! I truly love all Easter Eggs!!!!

Umm....is it too late to take that back???
Umm....is it too late to take that back???

Ok...maybe not ALL!!!

Below I've compiled a list of (in my opinion) the five best Easter Eggs of all time! Y'all ready? Well, here we go!!!

.

.

5. Peter Jackson in the Lord of the Rings/ the Hobbit!!!

The genius behind six of the greatest movies EVER!!
The genius behind six of the greatest movies EVER!!

Peter Jackson directed the Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as the Hobbit trilogy. He has done so many amazing pieces of work, but in my personal opinion, he truly shone his brightest with the productions of these two trilogies based on the books written by J.R.R. Tolkien!!! He decided to appear briefly in both of these trilogies and he pulled a Stan Lee. He appears (both times) outside of the Prancing Pony Inn in the town of Bree, munching on a carrot!

I'm not sure if he just WANTED to eat a carrot, or if he actually hates carrots, and that's why he has that scowl on his face both times. Haha, either way, it was pretty dang funny!!!

4. Gimli the Dwarf in The Hobbit!!!

"No!! That's me wee lad, Gimli!"--Glóin
"No!! That's me wee lad, Gimli!"--Glóin

Yes, I know, another Tolkien movie Easter Egg. We all used the term "lol" (laugh out loud) sometime in our life, but this term applied to me in the most literal sense in theaters when I went(in my Gandalf costume, no joke) to go see the Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug! It was during the scene when the elves had taken the dwarves captive and were disarming them. Legolas (an elf) took a locket from Glóin (a dwarf) and Legolas asks what the picture is of and Glóin replies to him saying that it is his son, Gimli!

"This ax is not for hewing trees, but orc necks!!!"
"This ax is not for hewing trees, but orc necks!!!"

Now Gimli (for those of you who may not know and should go and watch the Lord of the Rings right now) is the main Dwarf character in the Lord of the Rings. He is undoubtedly the comic relief of the trilogy and is one of my personal favorites!

There are quite a few references in the Hobbit trilogy referencing the Lord of the Rings, but this was my favorite out of all of them! I really enjoyed this Easter Egg because it made me laugh, it was referencing one of my favorite characters, and it and it was downright awesome!!!

3. LOST in Alias!!!

Oceanic Airlines Flight 815.
Oceanic Airlines Flight 815.

If y'all haven't ever watched Alias, it's a television series following CIA agent Sydney Bristow as she takes out all sorts of baddies! At one point in the show, she is in an airport about to board her plane. Over the P.A., the announcement can be heard for all passengers to board for Flight 815 for Oceanic Airlines. This means nothing to y'all if you have not seen the other television series known as LOST. In this show, the story revolves around a group of people whose plane crashed on an island. Their plane was...can you guess it? That's right!! Oceanic Airlines Flight 815!!!!!

Exciting right? But that's not the only LOST Easter Egg there is in Alias. In one episode of Alias, Sydney is at her sister's birthday party. There are friends, there's pizza, and music is playing in the background. All in the ordinary right? Wrong!! The music in the background is no ordinary music. It's the song "You All Everybody" and if you've watched LOST, then you know that's Charlie's song (one of the best characters in LOST) that he and the rest of his band Drive Shaft play throughout the show!

Not Penny's Boat. Let me know if you got that ref.
Not Penny's Boat. Let me know if you got that ref.

These Easter Eggs are awesome in my mind, because they tie two shows together. Two shows that I really liked! Especially LOST!!!!!! These shows have nothing in common, save for one thing. And that is that J.J. Abrams was the director of both television series'. I think J.J. was just having fun when he put those awesome Eggs in there and I feel great because I'm probably one of the few people who even got those references and I feel like I'm in some kind of inside joke!! WITH J.J. ABRAMS!!!!!

2.Captain Jack Harkness: The Face of Boe!!!(Doctor Who)

"The Face of Boe, they used to call me."
"The Face of Boe, they used to call me."

Alrighty, everyone knows about Doctor Who. You've either watched it yourself, or have been harassed by your crazy Whovian friend who will do anything to get you to watch it!!!! If you're one of those people who haven't watched it (it's ok, I just can't be your friend now, jk) then allow me to introduce you to Captain Jack Harkness.

He's a time-traveling "time agent". He goes on adventures with the Doctor (his name is NOT Doctor Who!!!) from time to time, and later (spoilers) gains the power of immortality. Well, sort of. He can die, but he'll just come back to life seconds later every time! In the show, the last time we see him, he's walking away from the Doctor and Martha (the Doctor's companion) and says to them that he was once called "The Face of Boe". Again, this would mean nothing to you if you had never watched the show! The Face of Boe is an alien and a friend of the Doctor who appears every now and then on a few of the Doctor's time-traveling adventures!

Yep...he's uh...just a face...mm hmm.
Yep...he's uh...just a face...mm hmm.

If my jaw was long enough, it would have literally hit the floor. I was gaping!!! Two very different characters, having no connections whatsoever were now one and the same??? It blew my mind! It was never confirmed that Cap. Jack Harkness and the Face were the same person, he just said that that's what he used to be called. However, I think it's pretty much a known fact that he is the Face of Boe!!!!

1. Stan Lee in....EVERYTHING MARVEL!!!!!

Go Stan!!! Everyone's favorite old guy!!!!
Go Stan!!! Everyone's favorite old guy!!!!

Stan "The Man" Lee. Co-creator of the MARVEL universe, creating great characters like Spider-man, the Incredible Hulk, the X-Men, and so many more!!!!!! If you know anything about the MARVEL comics based superhero films, you know that Stan Lee has a cameo in nearly ALL of them, the only exceptions being some of MARVEL's older productions that were released prior the Stan's decision to appear amongst all our favorite heroes on screen. He usually will have one line (sometimes no lines at all) and will only appear for a moment or two. In Iron Man 2, he's only seen for a split second and is easily overlooked. If you'd like to, check another article of mine. It's my fan-theory of how all of Stan's cameos are connected! The article is linked below.

I absolutely adore MARVEL's films! I go and see every one of them at the midnight premiers!!! But when Stan Lee cameos in them (not to mention his appearance in Princess Diaries, haha), it makes the experience all the more enjoyable!!! As I said earlier in this article, Easter Eggs make movies a game. This is the best example ever! I love these cameos SO much that I've decided to share with you my Top Five Stan Lee Cameos!! A Top Five list within a Top Five list!

5. Thor: the Dark World!!!

Sorry, it's a little blurry!
Sorry, it's a little blurry!

This scene is pretty hilarious as it shows Stan Lee as a patient in a mental hospital! Eric Selvig (a scientist who's also a patient) uses two shoes as a demonstration of what will happen to their entire world. Finishing the presentation, he asks if anyone has any questions. Stan answers, "Yeah. Can I have my shoe back?" Bahahahaahhaaa!!! It's hilarious!!!! Yeah, no. You had to be there.....

.

.

4. Big Hero 6!!!

"I wear 'em front. I wear 'em back....."
"I wear 'em front. I wear 'em back....."

MARVEL's animated film Big Hero 6 was a huge success I'd say. Winning several awards. Stan Lee has a great cameo in the post-credits scene of the movie. If you haven't seen the movie, I don't want to spoil it, so I'll just say that I hope we maybe get to see a Big Hero 6 sequel where Stan gets fight some baddies. Just remember, with MARVEL, don't leave before the credits are over! ;)

3. Spider-Man 3!!!

An Awesome Stan Lee moment!
An Awesome Stan Lee moment!

This is just a great scene where Stan Lee gives a motivational speech to Peter Parker while Parker doubts he's making a difference as Spider-Man. 'Nuff said!

2. Amazing Spider-Man!!!

Man! He had that classical music BLASTING!!!!!
Man! He had that classical music BLASTING!!!!!

Stan Lee is cleaning Peter Parker's school library listening to classical music while Spidey is being clobbered by The Lizard!!! This scene is so funny I almost peed myself!!!

1. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer!!!

This was AWESOME!!!
This was AWESOME!!!

In Fantastic Four 2, Stan cameos as himself trying to get into the party, but the security guard says he can't go in if he's not on the list. Stan tries to tell him that he's Stan Lee, but the guard just says, "Nice try man." and won't let him in! This one is the absolute best Stan Lee cameo OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!

And just because....let's watch this completely random video!!!!
