In episode 17, The "Tricksters", we learn the big big secrets. The episode starts out with the battle 15 years ago, between [The Flash](series:1068303) and The Reverse Flash. It clearly shows that.... Barry Allen gets a new COSTUME! Now the thing that I'm wondering is.. when exactly does Barry go back in time as it is showed on episode 17 , because the costume that The flash has doesn't get "made" until a little more into the future.
In the first episode of The Flash, at the end it shows that in 2024 , The Flash vanishes and it clearly shows that eventually Barry gets his destined cool costume.
My guess is that Barry doesn't go back in time until much more into season 2 of The Flash when he knows more about how time traveling. When he first traveled in "Out Of Time" he time traveled by accident. It is revealed that , that was the fastest he could go.. and he barely went back 24 hours? Something tells me he is going to have to conjure up more speed from the speed force to actually travel back in time to the night his mother was murdered.
I think what they did here with the real Eobard Thawne and the real Harrison Wells was very very creative. Now, of course it isn't part of any comic book storyline, so Andrew Kriesberg deserves a hands up for this! Now, this definitely explains the resemblance between Eobard Thawne and his great great great great great great great great (continued) grandfather Eddie Thawne.
In the coming episodes, there is definitely going to be more closure and more backstory to what Eobard Thawne is actually planning on doing, or what he has already done (time travel). I honestly cant wait for when King Grodd comes and terrorizes Central City. Most of all, I cant wait for the final episode of The Flash which is titled "Fast Enough?". Is Barry Allen finally fast enough to keep up with the speed of Eobard Thawne...The Reverse Flash?!?
