We’ve reached the Final 4! And what we have now, is pretty much exactly what everyone would expect. All four of the number one seeds have reached the Final 4. As some would say, we have chalk. Some of the fights were very close, but no one has been able to knock off any of the top seeds.

So now we have two very interesting fights to determine who goes to the final. But first, let’s look at these matchups and see how we got here.

Thor Vs. Dr. Strange

The number one overall seed in this tournament, Thor really didn’t struggle with anyone on his way to the Final 4. In the first round, Thor avoided some early bad luck by winning in a landslide against the Black Cat 17-1. His second round matchup was a bit closer, but still not really a challenge. Thor defeated the Black Panther 11-3. In the Sweet 16, we saw the closest thing to the top overall seed being upset, and it still really wasn’t that close. The God of Thunder took down Ultron by a score of 11-5 (I’m thinking we’ll see a very different result in Age of Ultron). Finally, Thor took on a fellow Avenger in the Elite 8. But the third seeded Iron Man was no match the Mighty Thor and he fell 13-6.

Dr. Strange was not quite as dominant on his route to the Final 4, but still very convincing. In the first round he defeated the fan favorite Punisher 17-6. He then made quick work of Quicksilver, winning by a score of 11-3. He then moved up the family tree to take out the Master of Magnetism. Strange defeated Magneto 12-3 in the Sweet 16. Then he moved on to his toughest matchup, and the score reflected that. Captain America made it close, but he couldn’t overcome the Sorcerer Supreme, falling by a score of 11-8.

So here’s our first matchup of #1 seeds. The God of Thunder or the Sorcerer Supreme. Who wins?

The Hulk Vs. Professor X

The big green guy got off to a hot start in this tournament. His lopsided first round matchup with Rocket Raccoon ended with a 16-2 win for the enormous green rage monster. His next opponent, The Human Torch, failed to even muster a single vote as The Hulk won 17-0. That’s when things started to get tough for the second overall seed in the tournament. In the Sweet 16 The Hulk took on the merc with a mouth. Deadpool, with a cult-like following in his corner, made this matchup a very close one. But in the end, Hulk smashed his way to an 8-7 victory. Then things got really interesting. The Cinderella of the tournament, Venom, stepped up next. The sixth seeded symbiote, already with an upset of Ms. Marvel under his...um... belt, made his fight with The Hulk a very close one. But again, the other guy was able to escape with a 10-9 win.

The final number one seed was the leader of the X-men. Xavier was dominant in the first two rounds. He shut down the Black Widow by a score of 14-4. Then he stopped clobberin’ time in the second round, beating The Thing 16-1. Then things got a little bit more interesting. Professor X took on the God of Mischief in the Sweet 16. This matchup was much closer, but Xavier still managed to win 9-6. Then in the Elite 8, Professor X took on a fellow leader and fellow Illuminati member. And Black Bolt made it a very close fight. Xavier snuck past by just one vote with a 10-9 victory.

That brings us to our second Final 4 matchup. Brains Vs. Brawn. Hulk Smash? Or does the telepath take this one? Who Wins?
