Teen Wolf spawns another fashion mogul as Keahu Kahuanui launches his own brand of menswear under the Partikular Inc. moniker.
As teenwolfnews.com reports, Kahuanui is just the latest cast member to enter the fashion fray. Arden Cho launched her Leonard & Church watch company earlier this year.
Partikular was apparently born out of Kahuanui’s frustration at finding something to wear, “It started as a response to the constant struggle to find unique but simple, well-made menswear,” he explains. “If you've ever searched for one-of-a-kind costumes for events like Halloween, film projects, or conventions, you've probably made this upsetting discovery too -- all too often, quality is simply not a priority when creating specialty garments.”
If you're familiar with Kahuanui's convention work, you know how creative his home-made costumes and original characters can be. The first product from his new company incorporates elements of both costume and classical men's fashion elements.
Last year he came up with a pair of suspenders made out of neckties and Partikular’s first product came to be. Then, working with industry professionals and putting his own design skills to use, Kahuanui created dozens of prototypes by hand in order to perfect the product. The success of this limited debut made him believe that folks shared his desire for something different to wear that's "just left of traditional, but not radically estranged to classic charm."
He says the response to the product is pushing him forward to bigger plans, “With encouragement from friends, the fashion world and most importantly, the public, we’re now developing an entire line of goods.”
