Many countries like to take pride in their many achievements, whether it involves their academics, their political leadership, their culture, or their diversity. All of that aside, one thing we and the rest of the world like to take pride in the most would be our sports teams but more specifically our athletes. The world has a very diverse set of athletes that come from different backgrounds and different walks of life. Each athlete had there own personal struggles they had to overcome, as well as the low's and high's of their athletic career. There is also a good chance that athletes will have movies or biopics made about them so here are a few possible choices.
5. Ray Lewis
This Ex-NFL line backer for the Baltimore Ravens could have some interesting stories to tell on the big screen. Ray Lewis spent 17 years of his career playing for the Baltimore ravens and he really enjoyed being a part of the team. Ray Lewis is an inspiration to many people from his home town of Bartow, Florida. Ray has always been able to energise the crowds at his games and was always full of energy. Aside from all that it would be interesting to see an actor attempt to imitate his signature dance moves in a movie.
4. Hope Solo
Hope Solo would be another interesting choice, as the American goalkeeper and two-time Olympic gold medalist has quite an interesting story that would be translate well to the big screen. Most people are aware of the domestic violence dispute that she was involved in as well as the incidents involving her husband Jerramy Stevens ("drops mic"). This film would probably dominate the box office if it was made into a film (come on you know it's true). Right now though, Solo is trying clear up the mess she made and focus on her career but maybe we will see a film about her life in future.
3. Oscar Pistorius
Oscar Pistorius has become quite the person of interest since his murder trial began. The Olympic sprinter was in court on the charge that he shot and killed his girlfriend because he thought she was actually a robber. Despite that Pistorius probably has many other experiences that could play out well in a movie. I'll even go as far to say that this film could be a future Oscar contender (excuse the pun).
2. Serena Williams
Serena Williams definitely has gained momentum as an athlete and that could prove to be an interesting piece to look over if a full length movie was made about her tennis career as well as her personal life. Williams is ranked #1 in women's single tennis and was also ranked #1 by the Women's Tennis Association on 6 different occasions. Williams has quite the career ahead of her at age 33 but eventually we could see how this journey began and ends for Williams on the big screen some day.
1. Tom Brady
Yeah, this one seems like an obvious one. Tom Brady is essentially a football icon at this point despite the controversy that he has danced around in the past. This New England Patriots quarterback is a very likely candidate for a future feature film considering his many feats and athletic accomplishments (there's a lot of air coming out of this football). Brady has even said that he has thought about acting after he leaves the NFL and is set to cameo in the Upcoming Entourage film. His life sounds like a movie already, the script practically writes itself .
