Cyclops #12: "The Black Vortex" continues with part 10 of this incredibly boring and useless storyline. In the last 2 months, we have seen heroes(and villains) get corrupted by the Black Vortex to do deeds that they normally would not do. We also have a combined 5 storylines running in this storyline at once that I assume will connect at the very end. What gets accomplished in this issue(which is also the final issue of "Cyclops").Nothing at all. Literally nothing.

In the last 2 issues, Cyclops has been captured by Mister Knife along with Iceman and Groot. While a majority of this issue focuses on the prison break that a young Scott Summers must attempt to escape with the Black Vortex, it also displays a maturity process that Cyclops shows as he slowly again transitions from a kid to the future leader of the X-men. If you're a follower of the Cyclops series, you might be happy with this issue. If you're a follower of "The black vortex" then you will feel this issue does nothing to the over-all plot and 4 of the 5 storylines flowing in this mess of a series are never even discussed. By the end, we have 3 more people using the Black Vortex power. If you're in the mood to see a super-charged Iceman who looks like an elf and a super-charged Cyclops who looks like something out of an 80's Nintendo game, then read this issue. If not, you can skip it and really not miss anything.I give this issue a 5 out of 10.
