With Deadpool ramping its game up, we all knew it was inevitable that screenshots would start appearing online.. Well here we go. Check out Ryan Reynolds as [Deadpool](movie:38663) on set.
Based on what Van City Buzz is reporting, the person inside the Deadpool costume is definitely Ryan Reynolds and not a stunt double. He looks to be doing his own stunts unless it involves action scenes requiring expert level skills. The fact that he’s filming this in front of his hometown of Vancouver must be extra special for the actor.
“…production crews filmed a scene on the Georgia Viaduct involving Deadpool being pinned in by a gunman in a flipped over SUV. The scene had gunfire and simulated explosions while Reynolds planned his attack in his red and black sword-clad spandex Deadpool costume.
It is one of the film’s most significant and expensive scenes, requiring a two week closure of the arterial road that connects the downtown core with the eastern suburbs.”
UPDATE: First look at Ryan Reynolds on the set of 'Deadpool' "Beneath the mask"
Just some facts on Deadpool: Deadpool possesses a superhuman healing factor derived from that of the mutant Wolverine that allows him to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary human. As such, he can regrow severed limbs or vital organs. The speed at which this healing factor works varies in direct proportion to the severity of the damage Deadpool suffers. This healing factor also affords Deadpool a virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs, as well as an enhanced resistance to diseases and an extended life span. Unlike Wolverine (James Howlett), Wolverine’s natural healing factor, Deadpool’s is mentally driven to a partial extent. Due to the presence of this superhuman healing ability, many of Deadpool's natural physical attributes have been enhanced. Deadpool's musculature generates considerably less fatigue toxins than the muscles of an ordinary human being, granting him superhuman levels of stamina in all physical activities. His natural strength, agility and reflexes have been enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural limits of the human body. Deadpool's agility and reaction time are superior to those of even the finest human athlete.
And just fyi in case you missed it, Deadpool will be rated R!
