Okay...Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) dropped a bomb that many speculated but never thought would happen. Yesterday, she announced that The Vampire Diaries season 6 will be her last. Fans took to twitter with there reactions and let's just say it was not pretty. Emotions are high with this news, shippers are livid and some are just sad. Anticipating that the show will not be the same with Elena Gilbert and that The CW should take action and cancel season 7. Trust me Delena and Stelena fans I feel your pain. It seems the only happy part of the TVD fandom are those that ship Caroline and Stefan (Steroline.) A ship that has plenty of followers but still has not caught the magic that Klaroline brought to the show. With Caroline becoming the new leading lady...who will she end up with?
Many Stefan and Caroline fans are rejoicing but if you look closer at the recent interviews coming out lately and Julie Plec's latest statement. It's clear that this show will become more about The Salvatore brothers' relationship.
She continued, “We will miss Nina and the four hundred characters she played, but we look forward to the insane and exciting challenge of continuing to tell stories of our Salvatore Brothers and our much-loved and gifted ensemble.”

Which also brings me to my predictions for season 7. Let's be real for a moment..TVD has lost a lot of viewers as of late. The show just does not pull in the numbers it did before. Many try and blame the longevity of the show for that. That's not a good excuse, you have shows like Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy and a slew of others still getting good or okay ratings. Most have had more seasons than TVD. The Originals left and that caused a lot of plot holes . It seemed during season 5, TVD was trying to find it's footing after such a great loss. But the show can still be saved and it includes bringing The Mikaelsons back into the fold with crossovers. As the show will center more on the Salvatores and their journey ,Caroline has the perfect opportunity to finally leave Mystic Falls. She has nothing left and seeing as she will not only lose one friend but two. Michael Trevino, who plays Tyler is also leaving. So Caroline must be pretty devastated by the end of this season.
Opening up season 7 we should see the characters dealing with their loss and trying to move on. The Salvatore brothers will lean on each other, being that Elena was such an important part of their life. Stefan will be there for Damon as he descends into madness over his grief. Caroline being the great friend she is will see this and decide to put her and Stefan's relationship on hold. Giving him time to deal with his brother. We also have to remember that Mama Salvatore will have an impact on these boys too. As Caroline gets back to herself and starts to think about what she really wants her mind will change. She will realize that it is time to leave Mystic Falls and see the world. Giving this leading lady her own storyline.
How it could lead to Klaroline.
Klaroliners know who gave our Vampire Barbie that idea..yep Klaus Mikaelson. So by the end of season 7 I see the Salvatore brothers choosing each other. For me Damon and Stefan will be TVD's endgame. Leading off with Caroline saying goodbye and taking off to see the world. Which at this time will hopefully include a visit to New Orleans. After all Klaus did promise to be her last love, so if Steroline needs to continue in order for Caroline to see that. I'm down. In the end TVD episode 4x23 can be seen as Chekhov's gun.
Remove everything that has no relevance to the story. If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it's not going to be fired, it shouldn't be hanging there.
Klaus and Caroline had 3 years of build up leading to the moment Caroline does confess her feelings for Klaus. Many see that as their goodbye, because Klaus promised never to return to Mystic Falls. I saw that as an invitation to come when she is ready. Klaus has never made a decision for Caroline, it's always come down to her choice. With all her friends moving on and starting new lives, which seems to be the case in TVD season 7. Whose to say at the end of the series Caroline can start hers.
