Obviously things are bit different now when it comes to major blockbuster films, but how different would Marvel's "The Avengers" be if it had come out 20 years ago?
It certainly reminds me of the trailers for films like "Con Air" and "Independence Day."
How crazy is it the way that movies were marketed so differently? The trailer voice guy used to do most of the work, and you saw almost none of the film. I suppose it was easier to avoid spoilers back then.
Also, Dub-step, to my knowledge, had not been invented yet. So you lose those big time bass effects.
I am very happy that they waited to put the Avengers in a movie until movie studios could really handle a film of this magnitude. I'm not sure practical effects would have done the trick.
