George Lucas has gone on record saying that Akira Kurosawa's classic The Hidden Fortress was a huge influence on the Star Wars franchise. So much so, the original plot outline for A New Hope heavily resembled that of Kurosawa's seminal caper.
So, after seeing this incredible full-back tattoo by artist Eddie Stacey, it makes me wonder if he is a bonafide fanboy of both auteurs? Combining the stunning art style of feudal Japan with a Star Wars-ian flair, the tattoo depicts a battle between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, while Leia quietly looks over the Death Star's blueprints.
It's an incredible piece of work and should be seen, so:
