The long since rumored sequel to Eidos' outstanding cyber-punkish video game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, is finally here and it looks astonishingly cool!

Seriously, the intricate yet brutal fight sequences in the inaugural trailer (found below) blew me away, and cemented Mankind Divided's place on my list of games to watch in 2015. The story goes:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided directly follows the aftermath of the Aug Incident, a day when mechanically augmented citizens all over the world were stripped of control over their minds and bodies, resulting in the deaths of millions of innocents.
The year is now 2029, and the golden era of augmentations is over. Mechanically augmented humans have been deemed outcasts and segregated from the rest of society. Crime and acts of terror serve as a thin veil to cover up an overarching conspiracy aimed at controlling the future of mankind…

Have a look at some of the trailer's most kick-ass moments:

"Embrace what you've become"

It's been two years since the events of Human Revolution and protagonist Adam Jensen is back in business.

The enemy has a new face...and it's pretty ugly

No word on exactly who this guy is yet, but you can be pretty sure you'll have to stand toe-to-toe with him at some point.

Man Vs Machine

The franchise's central, conflicted relationship between human nature and technology seems as present as ever. With augmentation comes social and biological hierarchy, and with hierarchy comes the corruption of power...

Double Chest-Stab!

Yep, that's totally Jensen sticking two guys in the chest with his cyborg arm-blades, and yes, it is totally badass.

The previous title in the series, Human Revolution, featured four possible endings, letting the player decide how the story resolved itself, so it'll be interesting to see which one is assumed canon.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is coming soon on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
