Future Seasons Of The Simpsons Will No Longer Be Released On DVD!

Al Jean, showrunner of The Simpsons, has revealed that the animated series will no longer be released on DVD.

The first season was released, in America, back in September 2001 and most recently, Season 17 was released in December 2014 but back in 2010 saw the release of Season 20 to celebrate the shows 20th Season.

The Simpsons.
The Simpsons.

The reason? The fact that the DVD "market is dying", due partly to piracy.

(A/N: Well news like this doesn't exactly help now does it? It will more than likely go up now so people can get the seasons that they are missing!)

How about some good news! Episode commentaries will still be recorded for FX.

Here's some more bad news! A the moment, the commentaries will only be available on FX or the Simpsons World app... which is only available in the US!

(A/N: Which is okay because everyone knows ALL of The Simpsons fans only live in the US!)

But Jean has said they will trying to get it out there for everyone to hear.

Start saving now though because it may be a slight possibility that we will see a complete collection once the show is off the air. Imagine that big-ass box set!

It is more than likely the same story for the Blu-ray releases, the first season to be released on blu-ray was Season 13 back in 2010.

Okay DVD sales may not be that great anymore so maybe adjust to the times and only manufacture like 1000 copies, once they're gone - they're gone!

I, personally, still love owning a hard copy of my TV shows. Imagine how much room all those seasons of The Simpsons will take up on your computer and/or hard drive!

What do you think about no more of The Simpsons on DVD? Would you even consider buying a complete box set once the show finishes? Comment below!
