It's actually surprising that The Thing hasn't been revealed yet in all his splendor. After all, it's hard to hide something of his size. And yet, he's very much like the Vision. Fox is hiding him for some reason. Until now. Empire Magazine just revealed new stills from the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Here's the The Thing.

He looks a little funny to me still, but then again, The Thing is always going to look funny. He's made out of rocks after all. It's hard to imagine such a small guy like Jamie Bell voicing this monster, but Marvel has been able to surprise us with curveball actors. Let's keep our hopes up.

Here's some other stills that Empire Magazine released.

It appears that our fantastic four are exploring some new world or alternate dimension. Whether or not they have their powers at this point is up in the air.

I can't imagine this is in Reed Richard's bright, happy lab. Where he is here is unknown, but it looks like he's getting experimented on by some (evil?) organization. My guess is that he does not yet have his powers at this moment in the movie.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

The Fantastic Four opens in U.S. theaters on August 7th, 2015.
