It's finally official! Since it was announced that Ben Hardy had been cast as an un-named role in X-Men: Apocalypse, fans have pointed out the resemblance of the actor to the mutant Angel.

Today, with the latest issue of EMPIRE Magazine, director Bryan Singer confirmed that the role is indeed the Angel. Along with the release is the first official look at the character's concept art, which gives a very mechanical, ominous feeling.

In the comics, the previously teased character at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past named Apocalypse, turns Angel into one of his four horsemen, specifically Death (again, developing more Biblical allusion to the Apocalypse, four horsemen, and the "Angel of Death").

Below, you can see the two official concept designs released, one featuring the full wings, and the other featuring solely the body suit which is somewhat blocked by the wings in certain parts (these concept images are likely sent to costume designers as reference, as well as the CGI team after initial filming).
