Every year thousands of people claim they've spotted UFOs and alien visitors. With so many people reporting such sightings, it's no surprise some of them are pretty famous. In fact, some people claim these celebrity sightings are even more believable than those reported by ordinary members of the public - the idea being already famous people do not need the extra attention created by UFO sightings. Personally, I'm not so sure of that fact.
In any case, here are some UFO sightings as reported by notable persons.
Back in 2013, Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe set up a camera to record the fruit bats which frequented his botanical garden in Woolloomooloo, Australia. However, when he assessed the footage, he same across three images which appeared to show a UFO. Check them out below:
Crowe claimed the images were taken 4.5 seconds apart and couldn't be the result of lens flare since the camera he was using did not have a flash.
However, commenters and members of the public quickly pointed out that the lights are likely to be a reflection of lights on a passing yacht.
John Lennon made some pretty bold claims during his life, including that he was a walrus and and that staying in bed would end the Vietnam War. However, he also claimed to have once sighted an odd flying object. Luckily for him, he had others to back up his claims.
The Beatles star once stepped out onto his terrace where he spotted a flattened cone-shaped disc emitting a red light. He immediately called his assistant, May Pang, who also spotted the object. Lennon would later sketch the following image:
Lennon claimed the object returned later that day, although this time with white lights. He informed the local newspaper who told Lennon he was not the only resident to notice the UFO. All told seven other people woulds reporting sighting the strange object.
Former Spice Girls member and current sort of famous person Victoria Beckham also claims to have spotted a large UFO over her LA home. Although it might look like a full moon, Beckham claimed the object moved like a craft. Check it out below:
Most people were quick to point out this was likely a case of aircraft misidentification. The airspace around Beverley Hills is home to dozens of helicopters at any one time.
Billy Ray Cyrus
Musician and Miley Cyrus co-creator Billy Ray Cyrus claims to have captured on film an entire UFO fleet. While snapping a sunset, he identified "5 or 6 disk like shapes hovering". Check out his damning evidence below:
OK, so Victoria Beckham and Billy Ray Cyrus might not be the most reliable witnesses, but what about Apollo 11 astronaut and bona fide moonwalker Buzz Aldrin?
Long after the success of the Apollo 11 mission, Aldrin opened up about a strange object that was witnessed by the entire crew aboard NASA's spacecraft. In the documentary, First on The Moon: The Untold Story, Aldrin talks of an odd 'L-shaped object' which appeared close to Apollo 11. At the time, the crew did not want to alarm mission control and instead asked for the location of a jettisoned piece of equipment. Watch the video below for the rest of the story:
British musical legend David Bowie is well-known for his songs that explore themes of time and space, but it also turns out Bowie is a big believer in extraterrestrial life. Doesn't sound that surprising does it?
Bowie claims to have seen countless UFOs over the years and once stated in an interview:
They came over so regularly we could time them. Sometimes they stood still, other times they moved so fast it was hard to keep a steady eye on them.
Author Peter Koening would later paraphrase statements made by Bowie regarding UFOs, writing:
A friend and I were traveling in the English countryside when we both noticed a strange object hovering above a field. From then on, I have come to take this phenomena seriously. I believe that what I saw was not the actual object, but a projection of my own mind trying to make sense of this quantum topological doorway into dimensions beyond our own. It's as if our dimension is but one among an infinite number of others.
Personally, I think they were trying to abduct Bowie, and who can blame them?
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd is another paranormal aficionado. He is a member of the Mutual UFO Network and also helped to produce the paranormal documentary, PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal.
Aykroyd claims to have sighted paranormal activity since his youth, but one event in the late 1980s stands out. During the middle of the night, Aykroyd woke up and told his wife, "They're calling me, I want to go outside".
Eventually, despite Aykroyd insistence to leave the house, his wife managed to persuade him to go back to sleep. However, the next day the Aykroyd's woke to news that people all over upstate New York, Quebec and Vermont had also felt the intense urge to go outside at three in the morning. Those who did spotted a massive pink spiral above the Great Lakes.
Actress Fran Drescher has taken things even further and claims to have been abducted by aliens in her youth. She even claims they inserted a chip into her hand, leaving a scar to prove it. In another interview, she also said exactly the same thing happened to her ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, stating they saw aliens “before we knew each other, doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads”. She added:
We were both in junior high. A few years later, we met, and we realized that we had the same experience. I think that somehow we were programmed to meet. We both have this scar. It's the exact same scar on the exact same spot.
Unfortunately, for Drescher, her ex-husband would refute her claim, suggesting she in fact got the scar form an accident with a drill bit, or alternatively, by burning herself with a cup of hot water.
