4 things you should know about the return of Game of Thrones
This weekend begins the fifth season of the series; here we advance some details
They will be off the books. As the fifth season focuses on the facts of the fourth and fifth books of the Song of Ice and Fire part of the saga published in 2005 and 2011, The book which correspond to the sixth season it wasn't published yet. Because George RR Martin postponed the publication of the book "Winter winds" it was announced to fans that the series will take a turn off forever from the story told in the books.
For the first time in the history of Game of Thrones, both people who actually have read the books, and those that haven't, are going to be in the same boat and with more of a surprise.
It is the last season that George RR Martin participates. A few weeks ago it was announced that George RR Martin will cease to be involved in the scripts of the HBO series. While the news was a surprise to fans and gave them hope(will start writing!) The fact is that days later it was reported that the British writer will started a new project with the tv.
For now we only know that the new project is called "Captain Cosmos" and will focus on a young writer who creates a series of syfy in 1949.
The first three episodes of the new season are:
- Episode 41: "The Wars to come".
- Episode 42: "The House of Black and White"
- Episode 43: "High Sparrow".
There will be new characters. Each new season is a time to discover new characters and the fifth instalment is no exception. Among the most anticipated characters we meet "The Sand Snakes" are bastard daughters of Prince Oberyn Martell: Obara, Hughes, Nymeria and Tyene. Also we meet the new king of Dorne, Doran, and with him, his bodyguard Areo Hotah.
There are two curiosities in relation to the characters of the fifth season. The first is the return of the daughter of Cercei, Myrcella Baratheon, who had been sent to Dorne by Tyron. The second is about Malko, a character that appears in the books and is presented as a great mystery.
