Today I watched Now You See Me for the first time which revolves around a group of 4 magicians who perform 3 main tricks which are also robberies, and the FBI trying to hunt them down and stop them. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.
There are a few positives to this film, which include: good acting, a good story, cool action and great humour. I really liked in the film how the story developed and the 3 tricks were really cool; there is some great action in this film, for instance there is a fight scene and magic is involved its really awesome. Every bit of humour in the film, for me at least, delivered and the film is really entertaining.
There are also some negatives, which are: the story is entertaining but not outstanding (the film is entertaining and enjoyable but certain parts are predictable and it is just not the best story) and there is a lot of unnecessary CGI (stuff in the film that could have used practical effects used CG which is bit off-putting when it is obviously CG).
Overall I really enjoyed this film and I'm a big fan of magic so I love these kind of films, however this film isn't as good as The Prestige; and taking the negatives into consideration I rate this film:
