There is something about Victorian times and Steampunk emanations that make artists want to retrograde everything. Disney and Star Wars usually get the bulk of Steampunk/Victorian recreations.

Perhaps it is the hidden sexiness most female characters gain when they put on clothes and add on form fitting curves in just the right spot? How Lycra and spandex super costumes can't beat the good old fashion strung corset for a little innocence turned a bit naughty? Or perhaps a great waist looks better with a tight utility belt around it? Victorian couture and lingerie definitely hits all the major male fetishes.

Deviant artist contributor Michael Dooney has spent the last six years on and off turning mostly DC heroines and villains into Victorian/Steampunk wet dreams. The collection is grouped under the year 1887. That year saw the first Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes stories being serialized.

Dooney manages to keep these DC beauties sexy but still innocent. All radiate their essential comics persona. The little details of their secret identities are evident for the close observer. The naughtiness is in our minds suggestion.

A Princess Leia, Jean Gray, a scattered X-Ms or two, Nina Harker of Dracula fame, Vampirella, Medusa and a few others are slipped in to break up the mostly DC mix. The essentials are all here: Super Girl, Wonder Woman, Bat Girl, Cat Woman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy.
