If you have been a fan of the Daredevil series so far that's been on Netflix (I know I have and I'm only four episodes in... so please don't spoil anything), then you'll probably be excited to see what Marvel and Netflix have in store for their upcoming release [A.K.A. Jessica Jones](series:1168773) or Jessica Jones (not sure which it is at this point.

We don't know a whole lot about the series at this point, but we do know that it stars Krysten Ritter as the protagonist of the series, Jessica Jones (duh).

This may be exciting for fans of the actress, but I think that where my excitement really lies is with the casting of the villain: David Tennant as the Purple Man. I've always like David Tennant ever since I saw him as the Doctor in the [Doctor Who](series:200668) series. He was always an actor that I wanted to see play in a comic book movie of some sort (I pegged him for a Riddler in my own fancasting of Batman), but this is interesting enough for me and I'll definitely give it a shot.

As for the character he'll be playing, the Purple Man is a terrible villain who has had run ins with characters like Daredevil before, but he's never hurt anyone so terribly as he hurt Jessica Jones, with the implication that he controlled her mind and forced her to do... despicable things.

Now, I don't know if they're going to get into this violating storyline between the Purple Man and Jessica Jones, I just hope if they do, they take a note from the first Taken movie and keep it as tasteful as they can; you can get the message across without actually being explicit.

But, we're not talking about my expectations for the show or anything like that at the moment, I just want to share the first image of David Tennant as the Purple Man on the set of A.K.A. Jessica Jones/Jessica Jones (whatever).

As you can see, the more "grounded" take that Netflix is having on Marvel's character shines through here as well as the character himself is not a purple hued man, but rather, just a fan of the color for his wardrobe.
