Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption is going to be seriously hard to surpass. While I adore GTA V and have enjoyed a lot of hours in its expansive world, it still can't surpass the genius of 2010's Red Dead Redemption. Naturally, we all want to return to something so brilliant for Red Dead Redemption 2, but where exactly could it be set and what size of a map can we expect?

We've already seen how well Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 could work if it moved its setting to Japan! However, there are obviously a lot more possibilities for the old West. But where exactly was [Red Dead Redemption](movie:42294) set? How many states did it encompass in its map and could we see it expand all the way to the East coast on the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2?

Red Dead Redemption 2 - Riding Across the Whole of the USA

According to some players, Red Dead Redemption actually encompasses a lot of the Western part of the USA. Obviously they all have different names in the game, but it seems we have areas of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Rocky Mountains, Dakota and of course Mexico all in this enormous map. Therefore, there's a lot more that we could still see on the release date of a sequel.

Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption took place at the cusp of the arrival of law and order to the old West. The country was changing and the arrival of the railroad at the opening of the game is indicative of this evolution. But imagine if we actually got the opportunity to ride horseback all the way to the east coast of the USA on the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2!

We'd be able to check out how the likes of New York looked during these times. It would be a fantastic contrast between the old and brutal west, and the budding age of machinery and development in the east. It would obviously make it a lot harder to start shooting up the place, but I think the reactions would be fantastic!

It was incredible how riding around on your horse in RDR never became boring. Therefore, even if the entirety of the USA was rendered for Red Dead Redemption 2, I'd have no trouble taking the time to ride all the way across it! We'd get to witness how the whole country was evolving during these years and that's not something I'd be willing to pass up on!

So what do you think Rockstar fans? Could we see these glorious developers give us a full rendition of the USA on the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2? Where would you like to travel to if you had the chance on the XBOX One, PS4 and PC? Let us know in the comments!
