If you thought Marvel was giving all its attention to The Avengers these days and all but neglecting its other movie children, Marvel is here to correct that by unleashing a new trailer for the Ant-Man movie today. Yes, that's right, today! The Marvel website will be giving us a better look at Paul Rudd's Scott Lang, Michael Douglas' Hank Pym and Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne in just a few hours.

Trailer For The Ant-Man Trailer!?

Since we're living in the age where trailers for movies like Ant-Man get their own trailers - here's a teaser for what lies ahead:

The preview for the new Ant-Man movie trailer does offer up a couple tasty tid-bits leading up to the new full-length reveal. We get a cool shot of what looks like Pym Industries (or some variation thereof) and just from this preview we get a sense of how Marvel will be establishing a new west coast expansion with their Ant-Man movie.

From Hank Pym to Darren Cross

But this shot does look like it takes place in the early flashback part of the Ant-Man movie as we then get a better look at Darren Cross, in non-Yellowjacket form, as the guy who takes over Pym's company - likely turning it into a version of Marvel comics Cross Technological Enterprises. We see him exiting the building and being flanked by a couple of bodyguard types and we see the Cross Tech logo more than a couple of times over the course of the trailer.

This Cross Tech building looks like it is the same California coast location as the Pym building but it's all Cross now. This building is likely playing a big role in the movie as it is location that Hank Pym is seeking the help of Paul Rudd's Scott Lang to break into. And this brief trailer gives us a couple of brief shots that reveal a detail or two about Ant-Man's adventures in B&E.

Breaking & Entering Ant-Man Style

One of the cooler shots is a jumping transformation that Ant-Man is making as he leaps into the air and towards those bullet holes that the security guards helpfully made in the door. Looks like this will make for a nice assist from the bad guys in getting through some of the more heavily secured locations.

The second look at some of the techniques Ant-Man will be using to get around is the old drain pipe dive. Ant-Man snaps a line to his suit and looks like he dives headfirst into a pipe. This might be the same drain pipe from the bathtub he shrinks down in and the water works could be the way he gains first entry into Darren Cross' offices.

We also get some looks at Hank Pym and his estranged daughter Hope Van Dyne in what appears to be reconciliation mode. The trailer does put less focus on the comedic elements of the Ant-Man movie and it'll be interesting to see if the new full length trailer follows suit.

Ant-Man as Marvel Comic Relief

I'm hoping the Ant-Man movie continues to push the comedic elements in the advertising. A lot of people were scratching their heads when Guardians of the Galaxy was first revealing itself in the early trailers but we saw how well that turned out in the end.

I think Ant-Man could be the perfect kind of comedy that Marvel could use after Avengers: Age of Ultron and before Captain America: Civil War. From all accounts the work that Edgar Wright, Adam McKay and Paul Rudd did on developing the movie during the long and bumpy road to production could make it one of the funniest Marvel movies to date. I'm sure Marvel will release various trailers with different tones to try and cover all the bases but it's always best when a movie can stay true to itself.

We'll see soon enough when the full length trailer drops later today! Keep your eyes on Marvel.com for the debut!

What do you think? Excited for a new Ant-Man trailer? Eager to see more of what Marvel has in store with this movie? Take to the comments!
