Horror Master Dario Argento is planning a treat for hardcore horror fans - Suspiria is getting a TV reboot! Turning one iconic '70s horror movie into however many hours of TV time sounds like exactly what I want to be watching, and with a Scream TV series hitting the small screen June 30th, it seems that TV is an exciting new avenue for horror hounds...

Here's a reminder if you're not familiar with Suspiria...

The original 1977 movie Suspiria - influenced by Thomas De Quincey's novel Suspiria De Profundis - will be steered by its creator Dario Argento, who will be 'artistic supervisor' for the series, which Screen Daily notes will be:

styled as a new Sherlock Holmes, the story will explore psychological fantasies of evil and attempt to solve fearful mysteries. It will be set in London and Rome at the turn of the 20th century.

Argento has publicly stated his enthusiasm for the project:

The extraordinary freedom of expression and creativity that modern TV drama now offers and the interest that the public has shown towards it have encouraged me to take a stab at this new genre.

This man is the freakin' Alpha and Omega of horror, my friends. The horror genius who brought some of scariest scenes in history to the screen...

When I have more details about the Suspiria TV show, I'll let you guys know. In the meantime, check out some more great horror TV fodder as recommended by horror maven Akari Kekse here and here.
