The wonderful Katee Sackhoff - best known for her role as Lieutenant Kara Thrace in the truly excellent series Battlestar Galactica - has written and will star in a brand new series titled Rain.
The exciting sci-fi series will explore heavy environmentalist themes, exploring a potentially catastrophic scenario in which the long-term effects of global warming have dire consequences on our atmosphere's stability.
Deadline describes it as:
an evolutionary parable that gives us a look into our possible future as a species viewed through the eyes of a soldier named Rain (Sackhoff).
I never knew she was a woman of so many talents, seemingly just as comfortable behind the cameras as in front of them.
Reunion Pictures’ Tom Rowe, one of the producers, says:
With Rain, Katee has created a future world and a story that are compelling as both a sweeping vision and a very personal exploration of a civilization in harrowing decline by its own hand. She has written a great story and we are excited to be working with her.
There's currently no exact release date for Rain, though its intriguing premise has already hooked me - let's get this show on the road!
