1. The Avengers

If you watch no other movie from Phase 1 watch this one, Avengers Age of Ultron is a sequel which means there won't be a huge sequence of gathering heroes and the nostalgia of all them teaming up has died down. This will give you the information you need to understand who these guys are and why there is existing conflict between Cap and Iron Man in Avengers Age of Ultron.

2. Captain America The Winter Soldier

Cap's second movie proves to be one of the most important ones to the series, I am not going to spoil anything cause you need to find it out for yourself all I am going to say is S.H.I.E.L.D will never be the same again.

3. [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073)

It's no secret that the infinity stones exist and they play vital roles in this universe, Avengers Age of Ultron will feature something to do with Thanos and the infinity stone and this movie may or may not have one in it. Anyway just trust me watch it!

4. Thor The Dark World

This film also features another Infinity Stone, but the Infinity Stone is not the main reason for watching this movie. Thor will be in a different place when we see him again in Avengers Age of Ultron and this movie explains why but make sure you catch the end credit scene (if you missed it or don't understand what either meant look here:

This is the last standalone Iron man film planned

5. Iron Man 3

This is the first movie after the first Avengers film and it didn't really demonstrate anything different, the reason for watching this is similar to Thor The Dark World there will be something different about Tony Stark when you see him in [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) and once again this will explain why.
