Now this is just my opinion and not fact so just bear with me...

So, the other day I was watching the Avengers premier on YouTube live, and during the live coverage Marvel reporter Tamara Krinsky had the chance to talk to a lot of the cast and crew of the movie. But the one-on-one chat I was listening during the most was with the [Marvel](channel:932254) President Kevin Feige. One of the questions Krinsky brought up was: "Is there one character you would want to see in the MCU (or something close to that effect)?" When she asked that, all that was going through my mind was "Moon Knight, Moon Knight, please say Moon Knight" and what Feige said was in complete summary, "Doctor Strange" and just like that my perky upbeat attitude soon declined. Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive fan of Doctor Strange but I was expecting something else.

My thoughts on why he was going to say Moon Knight was because in a lot of past interviews Feige was often quoted saying that Moon Knight was a favorite of his and that he was a very exciting character, but also saying he's a difficult character to deal with. Hey, they said that about the Guardians, too. After giving it some thought I came to some sort of conclusion... Feige said that Moon Knight was a favorite and that [Doctor Strange](movie:559685) was a character he was wanting in the MCU for a long time, both characters are involved with magic and the supernatural in some way, also both characters were both cited as an Easter egg in [Captain America: The Winter Soldier](movie:254973)[Captain America: The Winter Soldier](movie:254973)by Hydra member Jasper Sitwell saying, "A reporter from Cairo and Stephan Strange," etc. being said in a hurry but everyone knows he was talking about Marc Spector a.k.a. Moon Knight.

Alright, so here's a list...

  • Kevin Feige wants Moon Knight in the MCU as (probably) much as - if not more than - Doctor Strange
  • Both are involved with magic and the supernatural
  • Both were members of the Defenders in the comics at some point, Doctor Strange being one of the founding members
  • A Defenders series is coming to Netflix to round out the Daredevil and the other upcoming Marvel Netflix series'
  • Lastly, both were a verbal Easter egg in CA: TWS (which is a bit of a coincidence since they both were the only two characters cited in the film)

Remember if you have an opinion on this, be sure to comment.

Thanks for reading!
