Now, it's long since been established that what Robert Downey Jr. wants, Robert Downey Jr. gets. Whether it's charitable donations to a worthy cause, the actual Avengers sign, or conjugal rights with your new bride/groom, if he asks for it, we're pretty much inclined to give it to him.

As it turns out, though, that sense of whimsical hubris, accompanied by some deeply entertaining swagger, is just as appreciated by his Avengers: Age of Ultron co-stars as it is by all of us.

Case in point?

Robert Downey Jr. Just Asked the Other Avengers to Kneel Down Before Him...And They Did It...

Yup, that's right: While being presented with the Generation Award at the recent MTV Movie Awards (by his co-stars, no less), RDJ first led off with some gentle false arrogance...

"When the first Generation Award was given in 2005, I thought simply, ‘Where’s mine?’ And I’ve spent 10 long years patiently receive the recognition I’ve so desired."

...Before instructing his patiently waiting fellow Avengers to bow down before him:

"Everyone take a knee!"

Which...they then very much did.

Of course, he followed it up with a touching tribute to his friends:

“I try to live honorably and never forget my love of the game and my friends… if a man is judged by the company he keeps, I must be doing something right.”

Which was ably demonstrated by the group's distinctly amiable hanging out back stage:

But, even so, that's a pretty impressive move to have the cojones to pull off...

Nicely played, RDJ... Nicely played...

What do you think, though?
