We all have been clamoring for [Captain Marvel](movie:949779) to be in the Age of Ultron post-credits scene. Now we know there isn't even one.

Captain Marvel already has been confirmed for her own solo movie on July 6th, 2018, but Kevin Feige has said she could have appeared as soon as in 16 days.

Courtesy of an interview with Badass Digest, here is what he said:

“There were drafts that maybe people somehow got their hands on and read early on that included some characters – maybe others, but certainly one, which is why it’s dangerous to read scripts early on, and talk about them early on…
[Captain Marvel] was in a draft. But to me, it would have done that character a disservice, to meet her fully formed, in a costume and part of the Avengers already when 99% of the audience would go, ‘Who is that?’ It’s just not the way we’ve done it before.
Thanos is the good ‘Who’s that,’ because he’s clearly a bad guy, for comic fans he represents a specific storyline, you can get the buzz started from fans to non-fans with that cameo – as opposed to a title character, who deserves their own story. Even Black Widow you don’t meet in the last two seconds of Iron Man 2 wearing her costume – you evolve that going forward.
The way we reveal Scarlet Witch [in costume] at the end of the movie? Those were Captain Marvel plate shots. Joss said, ‘We’ll cast her later!’ And I said, ‘Yeah Joss, we’ll cast her later.’ [Whispers to an invisible associate who isn't Joss] ‘We’re not putting her in there!’
Finally Joss was like ‘Let’s use those plates to let Scarlet Witch fly into frame, give her a big entrance?’ And that makes sense – she’s come to their side, and she deserves the cool intro, which will feed into another movie we start shooting in a few weeks.”

That would be awesome, but if you are introducing four new heroes, plus a villain, you would have to have a 3 hour movie, plus a spectacular script, which Joss is probably capable of. But, Feige said it was doing a disservice to the character, so no one wants to see that.

Her origin will most likely be saved for her solo movie, or Avengers: Infinity War, but there have been rumors that she will appear pre-Captain Marvel in her SWORD agent/ Air Force pilot form in [Captain America: Civil War](movie:994409)

They could possibly change her origin to be a SHIELD agent, since SWORD has not been established yet, but SWORD is likely to be introduced in GOTG2, or Infinity War.

Kevin Feige has also said that their Captain Marvel will be Carol Danvers, not Mar-Vell or Danvers under her Ms. Marvel moniker

Which brings me to my next point:

Could Kamala Khan appear?

If you don't know, Kamala Khan is a girl who went through the terrigen mists, which have already appeared in the MCU via

She has become a cultural icon under the previously vacated moniker Ms. Marvel. She could appear in the Inhumans or Captain Marvel. It would be cool to see a buddy cop film with both Ms. and Captain Marvel.

This would be a good move for Marvel, not only for the much-needed diversity, but also because she is a cultural icon

In San Francisco, someone has been plastering pictures of her with Stop the Hate messages.

It is probably not gonna happen, but I would love to see Ms. Marvel in a film.

We also get confirmation that Scarlet Witch will get a costume and that The Twins will come to the good side unlike recent rumors from the kids novelization suggest
