A lot of news has been floating around lately. Either it be something to do with [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) , or the [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870) , or something related to the comic TV series like the new Daredevil. With The CW developing a new DC Comics series, something Im keen to know is who'll be the main nemesis. While it is unknown of what the show or team will be called, we are aware of some of the characters that will be on the new series. Characters such as A.T.O.M, Martin Stein, Canary, Hawkgirl, etc. will be on the show. However at the moment Im more interested to see who the main villain of the season will be. Now that we have ourselves a team, we need a villain, and a more upper class villain. Someone that has enough power to take on a whole team. So today I have come up with my top five picks of who the teams main nemesis of the season will be. I know Captain Cold and Heatwave are to show up but we need something more than them to take on this team.
ˆBit of a long shot this one, seeing that Waller is gonna be a part of next years Suicide Squad movie Warner Bros. may not want her involvement becoming to much in The CW's DC Universe. But it's something I wouldn't mind seeing. With superheroes becoming a known thing in the world this could be the time where Waller prepares for the worst. She's never been a fan of superheroes dominating the planet and the idea of them going rogue is something she takes very seriously. Having Waller use the Suicide Squad to take down the team wouldn't be a bad idea for the villains arc. Or maybe Waller could create her own super soldiers to take the team down and have them as the protectors of earth. I really enjoyed the Justice League Unlimited series and something like what happened in that first season would be cool. Of course in the end Waller will come to terms with the team but it will take some persuading.
Yeah, bit of a weird one and another long shot. Starro was the first foe to face off with the Justice League and I highly doubt we'll see this one make it the big screen. Now some of you may have no interest in seeing this villain as a giant star fish isn't the most appealing of foes. However I remember one of the writers on the Flash saying that they have a long list of villains that they plan on renovating so why shouldn't it be possible to see this one. Fans of the early Justice League comics will known Starro to be quite the menacing villain. Lately we've been seeing some of the weird and wonderful characters come to life in movies and TV. We've had a talking tree and racoon, a talking gorilla who is yet to be fully revealed. They even renovated Rainbow Rider which a lot of people had doubts about seeing. So why not bring on a gigantic star fish, could be fun. Starro is quite the dangerous threat to not just the planet, but the universe. The only thing holding this villain back is the CGI, but I think it can be done. The Flash has proven to have some impressive visual effects.
Now I don't know a great deal about this one but from what I've read he does sound like a great villain. He possesses no powers but doesn't lack intelligence. His origin is a twisted parody of Batman's. His parents were criminal and he saw two police officers shoot them. Prometheus spent a lot of time traveling and has learnt many things. He specialises in multiple subjects that evolve around science and technology. He has mastered several forms of hand-to-hand combat and is a master in firearms. The list goes on but one of his most unique things is his helmet that is connected to his brain. This computerised helmet allows him to download information to his brain. The way I see it this guy pretty much sums up an evil version of Batman, and honestly I loved it. Newsarama have listed Prometheus as one of the most dangerous villains in the DC Universe. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing this one in a movie but if not they should definitely consider him for this new series. Maybe the first season would be a little soon for a villain like this but as long as we see him at some point either on TV or in a movie, I'll be happy.
Now this is the villain I want to see the most. I see this one as a similar character to Ras Al Ghul only he seems much more dangerous. Savage has been a foe primarily to the Justice Society of America which is what I believe this team up will be called. Like many others he also wants to concur the planet. Unlike Ras though, Savage is actually immortal and has been around since the cavemen. Although his immortality is seen as his main strength he also has a genius level of intellect and is advanced in hand-to-hand combat. Another one of his strengths is his leadership which would come in handy for my next choice of villains.
THE LEGION OF DOOM
While the Secret Society of Super-villains and Injustice League is something I'd like to see in the movies, I'd also like to see a villains team in The CW's DC Universe. This could be something that not only effects the heroes of this new spin-off but also the Flash and Arrow. There are plenty of villains already from Arrow and Flash that could make the team like Boomerang, Deathstroke, Weather Wizard, Captain Cold and Heatwave. The only thing else we need is a leader. Now with Lex Luthor most likely having a big part in the DCCU it is very unlikely we'll see him in the TV Universe. I personally think Vandal Savage would be the perfect leader for this team. Just like he was in the animated movie Justice League: Doom. Vandal Savage and the Legion of Doom could potentially be the bridge of a major crossover that brings all three CW/DC shows together. Saying that though something like this may need developing and the big showdown may not happen until later seasons.
Of course we will probably see multiple foes over the season but Im just really keen of who'll be the main nemesis. I think Vandal Savage is a character we really need to see and if this team is to be called the Justice Society, then I would be very surprised if he doesn't show up sometime.
So are you excited for this new series? Make some sound below, and try to be nice. I've seen just about enough fanboy arguments over the past week.
