J.M. Barrie's classic fairytale, Peter Pan, is about to come to life once again. This time, however, Pan will tell the story of the origins of the boy who wouldn't grow up.

Director Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement) will be at the helm of this live-action fantasy film starring Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, and the newcomer Levi Miller as the illustrious Peter Pan.

Here's the latest poster of the film to get us all in the mood to board the Jolly Roger and make our way towards Neverland:

Although Pan has been billed as a darker take on the familiar story, from the stills available it still looks like a vibrant adventure film that should be fans of Lost Boys and pirates alike.

Even though Peter Pan's story has been told in various iterations on both stage and screen over the course of the last 110 years, I'm interested in seeing Wright highlight the background of such a famed character.

According to IMDb, here's what we can expect:

The story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.
