(Note: Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War SPOILERS lie below...)

When it comes to movie rumors, there's usually a certain pattern that emerges. The film is announced, and there's a flurry of excitement, and rumored plot and casting developments alongside it. And then...things go kind of quiet, until around a month or so before release, when the movie's PR team kicks into gear, and everything starts getting heavily leaked by assorted crew members.

That, though, doesn't apply to superhero movies. Because...Marvel. And Batman.

So, with the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron fast approaching, it's perhaps not too surprising that the winds of rumor are already beginning to change direction, and blow steadily towards a certain Captain America: Civil War.

"I thought I felt a draft..."
"I thought I felt a draft..."

Which...makes a lot of sense, actually. After all, the ending of Age of Ultron is inevitably going to - at least in part - set up Civil War, meaning a whole lot of the current speculation regarding the latter is going to become very relevant indeed in a few weeks time.

Especially when that speculation is basically just Kevin Feige - the head honcho over at Marvel Studios - out-right revealing both a small part of Age of Ultron's ending, and yet another Avenger we're set to see in Civil War.

Yup:

Kevin Feige Just Went Rogue

"Wait, I did what?"
"Wait, I did what?"

Or, rather, he just totally teased exactly what's going to happen with one of the Avengers...

Speaking to Badass Digest, Feige not only revealed exactly why Captain Marvel - who was originally set to appear in Age of Ultron - isn't there...

"it would have done that character a disservice, to meet her fully formed, in a costume and part of the Avengers already when 99% of the audience would go, ‘Who is that?’ It’s just not the way we’ve done it before."

...but also went on to reveal exactly who's taken her spot in the 'big-end-of-the-movie-reveal-slot':

And it ain't Magneto...
And it ain't Magneto...
"The way we reveal Scarlet Witch [in costume] at the end of the movie? Those were Captain Marvel plate shots. Joss said, ‘We’ll cast her later!’ And I said, ‘Yeah Joss, we’ll cast her later.’ [Whispers to an invisible associate who isn't Joss] ‘We’re not putting her in there!’"

Which, it seems, quickly became a way of teasing The Scarlet Witch's involvement in Captain America: Civil War:

"Finally Joss was like ‘Let’s use those plates to let Scarlet Witch fly into frame, give her a big entrance?’ And that makes sense - she’s come to their side, and she deserves the cool intro, which will feed into another movie we start shooting in a few weeks."

The most interesting part about that, though?

Whichever Side Scarlet Witch Is On, Is Totally the Side Captain Marvel's Going To Be On Too...

"Ahem."
"Ahem."

After all, the plate shot being used for Scarlet Witch's entrance most likely wouldn't work if that same team wasn't the same one Captain Marvel was originally set to join.

So keep your eyes peeled when Avengers: Age of Ultron ends, gang - 'cause it could be set to reveal a whole lot more than it seems...

Plus, as an extra bonus, there's always the chance we'll finally get to see something a little like this classic comic-book scene, from back when the Avengers first got themselves a new line-up...

Which, if you ask me, would be freakin' awesome...

What do you think, though?
